    Abstract: Embodiments are generally directed to a virtual sensor system. An embodiment of a mobile device includes a transmitter to transmit data and a receiver to receive data; and one or more sensors. Upon receiving a measurement request from a requestor, the measurement request including one or more measurement requirements including at least one type of sensor measurement, the mobile electronic device is to compare the one or more measurement requirements against at least sensor capabilities of the mobile electronic device. Upon determining that there is a match between the sensor capabilities and the one or more measurement requirements, the mobile electronic device is to perform a measurement with at least one of the one or more sensors to produce sensor data, and transmit a response including the sensor data to the requestor.

    Abstract: An apparatus for safety collaboration in computer-assisted or autonomous driving (CA/AD) vehicles includes an input interface to obtain sensor data from one or more sensors of a CA/AD vehicle, an output interface, and an analyzer coupled to the input and output interfaces to process the sensor data to identify an emergency condition of the CA/AD vehicle, and in response to the identified emergency condition, cause a communication interface of the CA/AD vehicle, via the output interface, to broadcast a request for assistance to be received by one or more nearby CA/AD vehicles. The apparatus may be disposed in the CA/AD vehicle.

    Abstract: Techniques for wirelessly charging small power receiving units are disclosed. An example power receiving unit includes a transportation mechanism to enable the power receiving unit to move and a wireless communication system that enables the power receiving unit to communicate with a plurality of other power receiving units. The power receiving unit is a master unit and the other power receiving units are nodes that take commands from the master unit. The power receiving unit also includes a controller to command the nodes to form a composite receive coil over a power transmitting unit and communicate with the power transmitting unit to start a charging session.

A particular embodiment includes: a main black box data retention device on a transport for recording transport data including operational and status data of the transport while in operation, the main black box data retention device including a wireless data transmission device; and an array of distributed wireless recording devices on the transport and in wireless data communication with the main black box data retention device, each distributed wireless recording device of the array including: a power supply; a wireless data receiver; a non-volatile memory device; and a control unit to receive the transport data from the main black box data retention device via the wireless data receiver and to store the transport data into the non-volatile memory device.
