Abstract: Wireless device, method, and computer readable media for multi-user request-to-send and clear-to-send and uplink ACK protection in a high efficiency wireless local-area network are disclosed. A high-efficiency (HE) wireless local-area network (HEW) master device may include circuitry configured to generate a multi-user (MU) RTS packet for a plurality of stations (STAs), the RTS packet to include an indication of an address for each of the plurality of STAs. The circuitry may be further configured to transmit the MU-RTS to the plurality STAs and transmit data to one or more of the plurality of STAs in accordance with at least from the following group orthogonal frequency division multi-user (OFDMA) and multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO). The circuitry may be configured to receive acknowledgements from the one or more of the plurality of STAs. A HEW device may set a deferral duration in an uplink transmission to enable a HEW master device to send an acknowledgement.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein include devices, methods, and instructions for managing beam interpolation in massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications. In one example embodiment, an evolved node B is configured to transmit to a UE using massive MIMO by transmitting multiple beamformed reference signals on multiple transmission beams each associated with a different plurality of antennas. The eNB receives beam interpolation information back from the UE, and then generates a data transmission that is sent to the UE using an interpolated transmission beam from a first and second transmission beam.

The processing circuitry may be further configured to set the TXOP duration field value to indicate a largest duration value representable by the TXOP duration field that is equal to or less than a duration value indicated by the first MAC duration field, if the first HE PPDU is to include a first media access control (MAC) duration field in a first MAC-layer portion of the first HE PPUU.

Abstract: An apparatus of a wireless communication device operable to communicate channel state information in a wireless network can include memory and processing circuitry coupled to the memory. The processing circuitry is arranged to derive one or more principal eigen beams from received Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) signals, the one or more principal eigen beams having a rank greater than or equal to one. Quantized eigen beams may be derived from the one or more principal eigen beams. A bit pattern of the quantized eigen beams and at least one of a wideband channel quality indicator (CQI) or a subband CQI may be conditioned on the quantized eigen beams. Channel State Information Reference Signal (CSI-RS) may be encoded with the conditioned bit pattern for transmission to an Evolved Node-B (eNB) in the wireless network.

Abstract: Embodiments of an access point (AP) may comprise memory and processing circuitry coupled to the memory, and transceiver circuitry coupled to the processing circuitry. The processing circuitry of the AP may be configured to generate a trigger frame to allocate a center 26 tone RU for an HE-trigger-based PPDU, the center 26 tone RU having an adjacent upper 20 MHz subchannel and an adjacent lower 20 MHz subchannel. In an embodiment, the center 26 tone RU is for a station (STA) and wherein the trigger frame indicates to the STA to transmit a pre-HE-STF preamble on one of the adjacent upper 20 MHz subchannel, the adjacent lower 20 MHz subchannel, or both the adjacent upper and lower 20 MHz subchannels, and configure the wireless device to transmit the trigger frame to the station.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, computer readable media for multi-user (MU) request-to-send (RTS) and clear-to-send (CTS) with null data packet (NDP) CTSs and response polling. An apparatus of a wireless device comprising processing circuitry is disclosed. The processing circuitry may be configured to encode a MU-RTS including station identifications and indications of 20 MHz channels for the stations to transmit CTSs. The processing circuitry may be configured to configure the access point to transmit the MU-RTS. The processing circuitry may be configured to encode a trigger frame for polling, the trigger frame including the station identifications and indications of short feedback resource units for the stations identified by the station identifications. The processing circuitry may be configured to decode short feedback from the stations in accordance with the short feedback resource units where the short feedback is in response to the trigger frame for polling and the MU-RTS.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer readable media for MU-RTS and CTS are disclosed. An apparatus of a high-efficiency wireless local-area network (HEW) master station is disclosed. Abstract: Embodiments of an access point (AP), station (STA) and method for subcarrier scaling are generally described herein. The AP may transmit a high efficiency (HE) physical layer convergence procedure (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) that includes a legacy long training field (L-LTF), a legacy signal (L-SIG) field, and an HE signal (HE-SIG) field. The HE-SIG may be based on HE-SIG symbols mapped to a group of HE subcarriers that includes legacy subcarriers and HE extension subcarriers. The L-LTF may be based on L-LTF pilot symbols mapped to the legacy subcarriers. The L-SIG may be based on L-SIG legacy symbols mapped to the legacy subcarriers and L-SIG extension pilot symbols mapped to the HE extension subcarriers. The AP may scale a per-subcarrier power of the L-SIG extension pilot symbols to match a per-subcarrier power of the L-LTF pilot symbols.

Abstract: Apparatuses, methods, and computer readable media for signaling high efficiency short training field are disclosed. A high-efficiency wireless local-area network (HEW) station is disclosed. The HEW station may comprise circuitry configured to: receive a trigger frame comprising an allocation of a resource block for the HEW station, and transmit a high efficiency short training field (HE-STF) with a same bandwidth as a subsequent data portion, wherein the transmit is to be in accordance with orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) and wherein the transmit is within the resource block. A subcarrier allocation for the HE-STF may match a subcarrier allocation for the subsequent data portion. The HE-STF and the subsequent data portion may be transmitted with a same power. A total power of active subcarriers of the HE-STF may be equal to or proportional to a second total of data subcarriers and pilot subcarriers of the subsequent data portion.
