摘要: A bilateral solid-state crosspoint for use in a telecommunications switching network is disclosed comprising a pair of Darlington connected pairs of transistors connected in a complementary relationship. The transmission path in each direction through the crosspoint comprises a Darlington connected pair of transistors and one additional semiconductor junction. A control circuit provides base drive to the transistors to close the crosspoint.

摘要: Embodiments include a fiber optic laser system having at least one optical waveguide with a laseable core and a pump cladding disposed adjacent the lasing core. A source of electromagnetic pumping energy is disposed adjacent to the optical waveguide and has an emission axis that is directed toward the optical waveguide. An optically reflective surface is disposed towards the optical waveguide and may be configured as an enclosure disposed about at least a portion of the optical waveguide. An index matching material may be disposed within the enclosure and in contact with at least a portion of the optical waveguide.

摘要: A permeable barrier for decontaminating groundwater having two distinct components for increasing contaminant removal. Preferably, the barrier material is a mixture or distinct layers of bone-char phosphate material and iron oxide pellets. The barrier material can be incorporated as part of a shallow trenching decontamination system, or incorporated in a non-pumping well, or array of non-pumping wells, as part of a deep underground decontamination system. The system can be used for removing, among other things, a radionuclide, such as uranium, from water.

Fiber reinforced, high durometer, EPDM-based roofing shingles of the present invention are a suitable replacement for traditional slate, wood or asphalt roofing shingles used to cover sloped roofs. A method is further provided for covering sloped roofs comprising applying a plurality of the fiber reinforced, high durometer EPDM-based roofing shingles of the present invention to a sloped roof in a preselected installation pattern.

摘要: A walkway pad composition comprises 100 parts by weight of an ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer; from about 60 to 700 parts by weight of a filler selected from the group consisting of reinforcing and non-reinforcing materials and mixtures thereof, per 100 parts of the terpolymer; from about 40 to 175 parts by weight of a processing material and mixtures thereof, per 100 parts of the terpolymer; and from about 2 to 10 parts by weight of a cure package, per 100 parts of the EPDM terpolymer, the composition being devoid of any additional polymeric components. The 100 percent EPDM walkway pad composition has better low temperature properties and superior weathering resistance, and heat aging resistance compared to other walkway pad compositions which may include other polymeric components such as natural rubber, synthetic polyisoprene, styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), polybutadiene, and butyl (IR) rubber. Up to about 25 parts by weight of ethylene-propylene copolymers may be substituted for the EPDM terpolymers.

摘要: Vulcanizable elastomeric roof sheet materials for roofing having improved adhesion performance and prepared from a polymeric composition of matter comprising at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of polyolefins prepared from monomers containing at least two carbon atoms and mixtures thereof, the polymer having a crystallinity of up to about 2 percent by weight; about 20 to 125 parts by weight of one or more mineral fillers per 100 parts of the polymer, about 50 to 110 parts by weight of one or more black-type fillers per 100 parts of the polymer; and from about 50 to 70 parts by weight of a processing material per 100 parts of the polymer and having improved peel adhesion to itself using commercially available bonding and lap- splice adhesives. A method of covering a roof comprises the steps of applying layers of vulcanizable elastomeric roof sheet material prepared from a vulcanizable polymeric composition of matter, to the roof being covered; overlapping adjacent edges of the layers; and adhesively seaming the overlapped edges of the layers together to form an acceptable seam. The composition of matter is devoid of any flame retardant rubber chemical additives, heavy metals, oxidants and halogen-containing polymers.
