    摘要: A fire retardant and antistatic polyurethane elastomer free of mercury and having a Shore A hardness of at least 30 is prepared from a polyol component and a prepolymer (e.g., an isocyanate) component. The polyol component comprises (A) a saturated polyester polyol of ethylene/butane/adipate of a nominal molecular weight and with a functionality of 2 or more, (B) a polyester polyol of ethylene/trimethylol propane/neopentyl adipate of nominal molecular weight and with a functionality of 2.5 or more, (C) an optional glycol chain extender, (D) an optional polymethyl alkyl siloxane defoamer, (E) an optional desiccant paste, (F) an optional polybutadiene oligomer, (G) an antistatic agent, (H) an optional surface modified fumed silica, (I) tris(2-chloro-1-methylethyl)phosphate flame retardant, (J) ammonium polyphosphate flame retardant, and (K) an organometallic catalyst other than a mercury-based organometallic catalyst, e.g., a tin-based catalyst.

    摘要: This invention relates to a flame retardant polyamide composition comprising a semi-aromatic polyamide, a flame retardant system and a reinforcing agent, wherein the semi-aromatic polyamide comprises units derived from dicarboxylic acids comprising terephthalic acid and aliphatic dicarboxylic acids, and aliphatic diamines. In the semi-aromatic polyamide the aliphatic diamines consist of 10-70 mole % of a short chain aliphatic diamine with 2-5 C atoms and 30-90 mole % of a long chain aliphatic diamine with at least 6 C atoms; the dicarboxylic acids consist of 5-65 mole % aliphatic dicarboxylic acid and optionally aromatic dicarboxylic acid other than terephthalic acid and 35-95 mole % terephthalic acid; and the combined molar amount of terephthalic acid and the long chain aliphatic diamine is at least 60 mole %, relative to the total molar amount of the dicarboxylic acids and diamines. The invention also relates to a housing for an electrical/electronic (E/E) connector and use therein of the flame retardant polyamide composition, to a surface mounting process wherein the E/E connector is used and to a surface mounted device comprising the E/E connector.

The composition can include at least one polymer and a hypophosphite salt, wherein the hypophosphite salt is heat stabilized so that when it is heated for 3 hours at 298° C. under a flow of argon flushing at rate 58 mL/min, it generates less than 0.5 mL of phosphine per gram of hypophosphite salt. The polymer can be an epoxy resin, a phenolic resin, an acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene resin, a styrene-acrylonitrile resin, a mixture of high impact polystyrene and polyphenylene oxides, a styrene-butadiene rubber, a polylactic acid or a polyvinyl chloride.
