Abstract:
A pulling tool for pulling nails, screws, rivets, pegs, or other protrusions includes a jaw which may be opened to receive the head of the protrusion. The jaw is then at least partially closed against the protrusion, and when the handle of the tool is pulled, the jaw is both urged shut and also away from the surface from which the protrusion extends. Thus, as the protrusion is pulled, its shaft is also more tightly grasped, which helps to pull the protrusion from the surface without stripping off its head/cap. The pulling tool can be provided as a part of a hammer, crowbar, or other conventional tool.
Abstract:
A rotary cutter, comprising a body, a trigger and an actuator member. The body includes a rear end and a forward end, the forward end including a cylindrical head. The trigger is rotatably connected at one end thereof to the rear end of the body, and the actuator member is also rotatably connected to the body. The actuator member is in at least selective contact with the trigger such that rotation of the trigger results in a reciprocal rotation of the actuator member. A blade assembly is removably coupled to the actuator member and is configured to move between a retracted position and an extended position. Actuation of the trigger results in the blade assembly moving towards the extended position. When the blade assembly is in the extended position, the blade assembly is capable of contacting a cutting surface.
Abstract:
A pressure resistant plastic bottle for containing and dispensing an aerosol composition. The plastic bottle is comprised of a hollow elongate body having a central portion, a top portion and an opposite bottom portion with the central portion having an inwardly concave configuration extending along its longitudinal direction. The bottom portion of the elongate body is integral with the central portion and defines an outwardly projecting convexly shaped configuration. The top portion of the bottle is integral with the central portion and has an outwardly convex configuration extending along its longitudinal direction and defines a neck having an opening for receiving and dispensing the aerosol composition. A closure covers the opening and is sealingly attached to the neck to contain the aerosol within the plastic bottle.
Abstract:
A Portable Power System configured to supply an appropriate voltage to an electrical device. The system includes a battery pack having at least one cell supplying a first direct current voltage, and an adapter. The adapter, which is electrically connected to the battery pack by an electrical cord, is configured to be mechanically connected to the device. The adapter also includes a DC to DC voltage converter supplying a second direct current voltage to the device, the second voltage being smaller than the first voltage but sufficient to permit the intended operation of the device.
Abstract:
An outboard marine motor housed by a cowl assembly having an upper cowl section and a lower cowl section includes various features for improving the structural integrity of the cowl assembly and for providing a water-resistant seal at the joint between the cowl sections and at various points of entry of cables and other mechanical devices. A cut-out portion in the side of the lower cowl assembly is adapted to receive various cables and shift levers for different configurations of outboard marine motors, e.g. a manual tiller-operated motor including shift controls, a manual tiller-operated motor having a separate shift lever, and a remote-control motor having throttle and shift cables leading into the engine cavity. A sealing mechanism is provided at the cut-out portion of the lower cowl assembly, to provide a water-resistant seal at the points of entry of the cables or shift lever through the lower cowl section.
Abstract:
A marine engine (18) is provide with a multi section injection molded thermoplastic air box (24) directing air to the fuel system's air intake throat (22) and silencing engine noise emitted back through the throat. The air box has a cover section (28) and a base section (26) mounted to each other solely by a seal (30) along a peripheral seam around the entire perimeter thereof, to prevent fuel leaks. The housing sections are preassembled to each other prior to mounting to the air intake throat. A removeable plug (70) in the cover section allows access through the cover section to bolts (56, 58) mounting the base section to the throat. Access is also enabled to a fuel adjustment screw (74) to enable adjustment, with the air box fully assembled and mounted in place on the throat, to enable adjustment under actual operating conditions. Air guide passages (32, 34) and an air plenum chamber (36) are all molded in place.

Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a device for describing arcs. The device includes a pair of legs connected at a pivot joint. A shoe is disposed at the end of one leg to support the device and maintain the center point of the arc while the device is used. An instrument is attached to the other leg so arcs can be formed as the device is rotated about the shoe. A rack and wheel are also connected to the legs to adjust the radius of the arc.
