Abstract:
Benzotriazoles of the formula I ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are located in the ortho-position or para-position relative to the OH group and at least one of these substituents in an .alpha.-branched alkyl group containing a polar group M in the .omega.-position are liquid or low-melting compounds which absorb UV light and can be used as stabilizers for organic materials. M can be, for example, an ester or amide group. R.sup.3 can be H, Cl, alkyl, alkoxy or a carboxyl group.
Abstract:
Compounds which contain in their molecule both a hydroquinone monoether or resorcinol monoether radical and a polyalkylpiperidine radical are effective stabilizers for photographic dyes and their intermediates. In particular, they act as stabilizers against damage by light.
Abstract:
A color-photographic recording material which, in at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, an interlayer and/or a protective layer, contains a stabilizer mixture comprising(i) a compound with at least one group of the formula ##STR1## or a polymer with recurring structural units of the formula I, and (ii) a phenolic antioxidant.Color images obtained by imagewise exposure and development of this color-photographic recording material show good stability to the action of visible and ultraviolet light. With respect to the definitions of the substituents in formula I, reference is made to the description.
Abstract:
s-Triazine compounds which contain in their molecule at least one sterically hindered phenol group and at least one polyalkylpiperidine group are effective optical stabilizers for photographic dyes and precursors thereof.
Abstract:
o-Hydroxyphenyl-s-triazines of the formula I in which n is 1 to 4 and R1 to R7 are as defined in claim 1, can be used, in combination with sterically hindered amines of the polyalkylpiperidine type, for stabilizing organic polymers. Some of these compounds ate novel and can also be used without polyalkylpiperidine.
Abstract:
Compounds which comprise at least one group of the formula I or II ##STR1## and at least one polyalkylpiperidine group of the formula III ##STR2## in which R and R.sub.1 to R.sub.6 have the meaning indicated in claim 1, are effective stabilisers for organic materials against damage by light, oxygen and heat.
Abstract:
Compounds which contain at least one group of the formula I ##STR1## in which X is a group which completes the ring to form a piperidine ring, are effective stabilizers for organic materials against damage by light, oxygen and heat.
Abstract:
Acid addition salts of basic polyalkylpiperidine derivatives, which contain a group of the formula I ##STR1## in which R is H or CH.sub.3, and an inorganic or organic acid, and also inner salts of sulfonic acids which contain a group of the formula I, are suitable as curing catalysts for acid-curable stoving lacquers. Their advantage is a long pot life and also an additional light stabilizing action.
Abstract:
The invention relates to ester mixtures of polyalkylpiperidine derivatives of the formulae I and II ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 is hydrogen or methyl, R.sub.2 is hydrogen, C.sub.1-12 alkyl, C.sub.3-8 alkenyl, C.sub.7-11 aralkyl, cyanomethyl or C.sub.2-4 acyl, R.sub.3 is C.sub.1-18 alkylene, C.sub.2-18 oxaalkylene, Chd 2-18 thiaalkylene, C.sub.2-18 azaalkylene or C.sub.2-8 alkenylene and R.sub.4 is C.sub.1-4 alkyl. These mixtures are suitable as stabilizers for plastics.
Abstract:
2,2,6,6-Tetramethylpiperidine derivatives of the formula: ##STR1## wherein m is 0, 1 or 2, R.sub.1 is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl, phenoxymethyl or phenyl and R.sub.2 is C1-C8 alkyl, are excellent stabilizers for synthetic polymers.
