摘要: Polymer compositions for making a stabilized polymeric articles that are resistant to discoloration upon exposure to UV-C light having: (i) an organic polymeric material; and (ii) a hindered phenol, organic phosphite, or a combination thereof, with the provisos that: (a) the OH group on the aromatic ring of the hindered phenol is flanked by two tertiary hydrocarbyl groups, and (b) the organic phosphite does not have any-OAr group linked directly to the P atom of the phosphite, wherein Ar represents an unsubstituted or substituted aryl group, are provided herein. Reduced discoloration is associated with the use of specific hindered phenols and the organic phosphites compared to other hindered phenols and organic phosphites, even in the absence of other polymer additives including UV absorbers, hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS), metal oxides and/or barium salts. Methods of reducing discoloration of an organic polymeric material upon exposure to UV-C light are also provided, wherein such methods include the step of adding to the organic polymeric material a stabilizing amount of hindered phenol, organic phosphite, or a combination thereof.

摘要: A thermoplastic polyurethane resin composition comprising: a thermoplastic polyurethane resin; an ultraviolet absorber package comprising a benzotriazole compound (UVA1), and a triazine compound (UVA2) wherein the mass ratio of UVA1 to UVA2 is from 1:1 to 3:1; optionally, a hindered amine light stabilizer and/or an antioxidant compound; and wherein the thermoplastic polyurethane resin composition has a maximum ultraviolet transmittance of ≤3% in the wavelengths between 280 nm and 365 nm and an ultraviolet transmittance of ≤6% in the wavelengths between 365 nm and 370 nm when the thermoplastic polyurethane resin is formed into a film having a thickness of 6 mils and wherein the cumulative weight % of UVA1 and UVA2 in the polyurethane resin composition ranges from 0.5 wt % to 0.85 wt % based on the total weight of the polyurethane resin composition.

The peroxide formulations may include, for example, one or more compounds selected from sulfur-containing compounds, organophosphite compounds, HALS (Hindered Amine Light Stabilizer) compounds, aliphatic allyl urethane compounds, and blends comprising nitroxides (e.g., 4-hydroxy-TEMPO) and quinones (e.g., mono-tert-butylhydroquinone).

摘要: A tackifier composition comprising at least one thermoplastic hydrocarbon resin and an antioxidant composition is provided; wherein a portion of the volatile organic compounds in the thermoplastic hydrocarbon resin has been removed; wherein the antioxidant composition comprises at least one primary antioxidant and at least one secondary antioxidant; and wherein the levels of individual volatile organic compound monitored in the tackifier composition are less than about 0.5 ppm as measured by GC/MS headspace analysis. Processes for producing the tackifier composition are also provided as well as adhesives comprising the tackifier compositions.
