摘要: An embodiment of a method of cooperative caching for a distributed storage system begins with a step of requesting data from storage devices which hold the data. The method continues with a step of receiving any cached blocks and expected response times for providing non-cached blocks from the storage devices. The method concludes with a step of requesting a sufficient number of the non-cached blocks from one or more particular storage devices which provides an expectation of optimal performance.

摘要: An apparatus for detecting an impact on a vehicle operates a restraint system by detecting an acceleration of the vehicle. A method for detecting an impact on the vehicle includes the steps of obtaining an acceleration value from an acceleration signal, detecting a signal peak of the acceleration value from the acceleration value, judging a peak time between a first peak time and a second peak time of the acceleration values, comparing the peak time with a predetermined time, adding weight to the acceleration value so as to reduce the acceleration value when the peak time is longer than the predetermined time, integrating after a weight added value and the acceleration value are multiplied for a predetermined time and operating a restraint system when an integrated value is larger than a predetermined value.

摘要: A radio-frequency amplifier circuit of simple construction having low power consumption and low heat generation and which amplifies an input signal while maintaining composite triple beat (CTB) distortion, type cross modulation distortion at a minimum, is provided. The radio-frequency amplifier comprises a transformer which transforms an input signal from an unbalanced state to a balanced state. The amplifier further comprises at least one distortion generation circuit including a first circuit having a nonlinear element and a first delay line coupled in series, and a second circuit having an attenuation element and a second delay line coupled in series. The first and second circuits are coupled in parallel. At least one distortion generation circuit is coupled to an input, an output, and/or an intermediate point of a radio-frequency amplification stage of the radio-frequency amplifier. The first and second delay lines are configured to create a delay time change in a signal input level of a signal input to the radio-frequency amplification stage which opposes a delay time change in the signal input level caused by a delay time difference between the input and output of the radio-frequency amplification stage. A transformer transforms the amplified input signal from the balanced state back to an unbalanced state before outputting the amplified signal from the amplifier circuit.

摘要: A charged particle apparatus wherein a charged particle beam irradiates an object to be observed and secondary emissions such as secondary electrons thus emitted from a surface layer of the object are detected. A signal indicative of the detected secondary emissions is applied to a control grid of a cathode ray tube to modulate an electron beam irradiating a fluorescent screen thereof. A detector detects the electron beam intensity of the cathode ray tube and minimum and maximum or peak values of the detected electron beam intensity are compared with predetermined reference signals to obtain deviation signals indicative of the difference therebetween. The signal applied to the control grid of the cathode ray tube is controlled in accordance with the deviation signals.

摘要: A condenses lens system condenses an elctron beam onto a specimen. The electron beam thus transmitted through the specimen is magnified by a magnifying lens system. The magnified electron beam is projected onto a fluorescent screen, and the image of the specimen is visually observed. The quantity of electrons per unit area in the magnified electron beam is detected by an electron beam detector. In response to the detected signal, the condenser lens system is controlled so as to make constant the quantity of electrons per unit area in the magnified electron beam.
