    摘要: A direct injection micro nebulizer based sample introduction system for use in nebulizing sample solutions in close proximity to sample analysis systems, with desolvation and solvent removal capability is disclosed. The present invention offers design features and utility not available in previously known micro nebulizer systems. Predominantly unibody design and use of nonmetalic, hydrofloric acid resistant construction materials are taught. The present invention allows easy cleaning and adjustment of element relationships which are necessary to proper operation of direct injection micro nebulizer systems. Use of separate or integrated protective sleeving on otherwise crushable sample solution delivery tubing is disclosed. Special direct injection micro nebulizer top elements and torch designs are also disclosed.

    摘要: A peristaltic pump includes a rotating member operably coupled to a drive. The rotating member includes a plurality of rollers arranged in a circular configuration. A guide member defines a channel configured to direct a peristaltic tube around the rotating member so that the peristaltic tube interfaces with the plurality of rollers. The peristaltic tube is pressed against the plurality of rollers by a retaining shoe. The retaining shoe contains surface irregularities configured to restrict movement of the peristaltic tube. A keeper braces the restraining shoe against the peristaltic tube. The rotating rollers compressing the peristaltic tube against the retaining shoe as the rotating member rotates results in a peristaltic action that produces a nearly pulse free linear flow.

    摘要: A fractional-volatilization separator includes a liquid inlet port for receiving a liquid mixture and a liquid waste outlet port for draining the liquid mixture. The fractional-volatilization separator includes a separator body having an interior wall portion connecting the liquid inlet port and the liquid waste outlet port. The fractional-volatilization separator includes a carrier gas inlet port coupled with the separator body for receiving a carrier gas, and a carrier gas outlet port coupled with the separator body for expelling the carrier gas. The interior wall portion is configured to cause the liquid mixture to flow from the liquid inlet port across the interior wall portion to the liquid waste outlet port to enhance evaporation of a first component part from a second component part of the liquid mixture as the carrier gas flows from the carrier gas inlet port to the carrier gas outlet port.

    摘要: A ferrule includes a flange and an elongated sleeve extending from the flange. The flange and the elongated sleeve define a bore, which is configured to receive a length of flexible tubing. The elongated sleeve is configured to hold the flexible tubing within the bore via friction. For example, the elongated sleeve is configured to hold the flexible tubing within the bore without compressing the flexible tubing. In this manner, flow through the flexible tubing may be unrestricted. In some embodiments, a distance of flexible tubing contacted by the elongated sleeve is sufficient to hold the flexible tubing within the elongated sleeve without tightly holding or compressing the flexible tubing. This configuration can prevent narrow tubing from becoming blocked and/or the tubing bore can remain smooth (e.g., for accurate mixing, constant fluid flow, and so forth).

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a pressurized fluid station. In an exemplary embodiment, the pressurized fluid station includes a vessel for receiving a sample probe. The vessel includes walls contoured to form a seal around the sample probe. Further, a delivery system is coupled to the vessel for delivery of a pressurized fluid to the sample probe while the sample probe is disposed within the vessel. In use, the formation of a seal around the sample probe and delivery of a pressurized fluid into the probe while such probe is disposed within the vessel allows for removal of sample blockage from the probe as well as high speed rinsing of the sample probe in between analyses.
