摘要: Disclosed are a redundant data storage system (e.g., a RAID system) and a method of operating such a redundant data storage system that provides significant power savings with minimal reduction in reliability. The system and method allow up to half of the memory devices in any of the memory arrays in the system to be placed in standby without significantly impacting the read accesses. The system and method further designate reserved areas in the active memory devices as write-journals, which have at least the same level of protection as the main arrays. The write-journals allow data to be written without powering up a standby memory device. Thus, power consumption is minimized without impacting reliability.

摘要: An apparatus for dispensing a liquid medium containing dissolved chlorine dioxide comprises a reservoir which defines a receptacle adapted for holding a precursor liquid medium having chlorine dioxide precursor dissolved therein and a tip assembly into which the precursor liquid medium passes after the precursor liquid exits the receptacle. The tip assembly comprises a chamber in which is located a promoter component effective to promote the generation of chlorine dioxide from the chlorine dioxide precursor in the liquid medium present in the chamber, an outlet providing a path for the liquid medium containing dissolved chlorine dioxide to exit the chamber, and an isolation assembly acting to effectively separate the precursor liquid medium in the reservoir from the promoter when it is desired that the precursor liquid medium from the reservoir be separated from the catalyst.

摘要: A valve assembly for regulating air flow to an internal combustion engine comprises a valve body having a valve bore forming an induction passage, and a shaft extending across the valve bore. A valve member is secured to the shaft for rotation in excess of 90 degrees between a nonactuating position and a maximum actuating position. The valve member passes through a zero degree position when rotated from the maximum actuating position to the nonactuating position. The flow area around the valve member when in the zero degree position is less than the flow area when the valve member is in the nonactuating position. A return mechanism urges the valve member toward the nonactuating position when the valve member is rotated away from the nonactuating position.

摘要: A squeezable dispenser having main flexible outer container closed off by a top and an inner collapsible flexible fluid containing bladder. A one-way flow valve is provided between the outer container and the inner bladder to prevent the contents of the bladder from contamination from external sources. A vent in the top provides fluid communication between the interior of the container and the exterior thereof. A sealing member overlies the vent and normally closes off the same when the dispenser is squeezed to dispense liquid in the bladder out through the valve.

摘要: The embodiments of the invention provide methods of protecting data blocks while writing to a storage array, wherein storage units in the storage array include write logs. The data protection level of the write logs is equal to or greater than the data protection level of the storage units. Moreover, the write logs have metadata describing contents of the write logs, wherein the metadata include a sequence number identifying the age of the metadata. Each of the data blocks is a member of a parity group having addressable data blocks and first parity blocks. The addressable data blocks have at least one host data block and at least one associated data block.
