摘要： A wiper assembly has an arm head which reciprocates with respect to a center line of a wiper arm by receiving motive force from a reciprocating rod. An elastic component is coaxially provided proximate to the center of rotation. When the coefficient of friction between the wiper blade and the windshield surface is inversely proportional to the speed of the wiper blade causing self-induced vibration in certain circumstances, the wiper blade tends to screech, skip or chatter across the windshield surface. Such vibration is suppressed by the elastic component, thereby permitting smooth reciprocal motion of the wiper assembly.

摘要： As a rotary pump, which is typically provided on an automobile, is provided with two alternative sources of motive power, typically including a driving connection to the automotive engine, and driving connection to an electric motor. These driving connections may be unidirectionally clutched in such a manner as to cause the electric motor to drive the rotary pump only when the pump is to be driven but the automotive engine is not operating up to a predetermined speed. Typically, the rotary pump is of the eccentrically mounted rotor type having radially outwardly protruding spring-loaded pistons effectively in contact with a camming ring. A slider is shown provided between the housing and the ring for effectively varying the magnitude of eccentricity of the rotor and thus for effectively smoothly varying the capacity of the pump.

摘要： A variable capacity radial piston pump is disclosed, in which the radially outer ends of the pistons are constrained by engagement with the radially inner surface of a cam ring assembly that includes a radially inner ring, a radially outer ring, and rollable bearings between the inner and outer rings. The cam ring is shiftably mounted in the pump housing so that its magnitude of eccentricity relative to the pump rotor can be varied in order to vary the magnitude of suction and compression forces generated in the working fluid in the rotor chambers associated with the respective pistons. Several mechanisms for affecting the cam ring/rotor eccentricity variation are shown and described.

摘要： An electrically operated fuel pump apparatus comprises an electric motor and a regenerative pump having a pump housing and a disc-like impeller. The motor shaft has an end portion extending into a central axial through-hole formed in an end wall of the pump housing. A joint member comprising a ring-like base and a circumferential row of axial rods extending therefrom is rotatably disposed in the axial through-hole in the end wall of the pump housing and secured to the end portion of the motor shaft. The impeller is rotatably and axially movably mounted on an impeller shaft provided separately of the motor shaft and secured to the other end wall of the pump housing. The impeller is formed therein with a circumferential row of axial apertures with which the axial rods of the joint member loosely engage to transmit the rotation of the motor shaft to the impeller while permitting axial movement of the impeller relative to the motor shaft and the pump housing.

Alternate passages are provided respectively with upstream plugs and downstream plugs. Particulates in exhaust gases are trapped in the honeycomb structure and ignited by the heater. The upstream plugs define spaces upstream thereof in which particulates are trapped in addition to those trapped in the passages having downstream plugs. The heat of burning of the particulates trapped in the spaces facilitates the burning of the particulates trapped in the passages having downstream plugs. Therefore, the exhaust gas particulates trapped and collected in the downstream portion of the structure can also be easily burned to regenerate the structure over its entire length.

摘要： In combination with a belt tensioner which includes an idler pulley to be radially displaced under control of an actuator for applying an tensioning force on an endless belt of the drive system for the vehicle accessories, an electric control apparatus comprises a microcomputer for calculating the actual tensioning force on the belt related to radial displacement of the idler pulley and for calculating drive power necessary for driving the vehicle accessories to calculate total drive torque of the vehicle accessories in relation to rotational speed of a prime mover of the vehicle. The microcomputer also calculates an optimum tensioning force based on a desired relationship between the optimum tensioning force and the total drive torque in consideration with the maximum efficiency of power transmission of the belt such that it generates a control signal when the calculated actual tensioning force is different from the calculated optimum tensioning force. An electrically operated drive mechanism is responsive to the control signal from the microcomputer to operate the actuator in accordance with the difference between the calculated actual and optimum tensioning force.
