摘要: An annular rail 6 is fixed on the lower surface of a moving hearth 2, and the rail 6 is supported from below by support rollers 7 provided with elevating devices 8. The moving hearth 2 is continuously or intermittently moved downward by the elevating devices 8 depending on the thickness of a metal oxide layer formed by the deposition of powder of metal oxide agglomerates mixed into the furnace together with the metal oxide agglomerates so that a gap is provided between the surface of the metal oxide layer and the edge of the blade of a discharge screw 4 during operation. A means for preventing the formation of a metal plate and a method for operating the same are provided instead of a means and method including the vertical movement of a discharger for reduced metal, so that the maintenance work can be significantly reduced in a moving-hearth heating furnace, in which metal oxide agglomerates containing a carbonaceous material is placed on a moving hearth, the metal oxide agglomerates are heated and reduced to form reduced metal agglomerates, and the reduced metal agglomerates are discharged from the furnace by a discharger to produce reduced metal.

摘要: In a method for making molten metal, reduced metal which is produced in a direct reduction furnace is melted in a melting furnace located in the close vicinity of the direct reduction furnace to produce the molten metal. The method includes the steps of putting the reduced metal into a metallic container, and loading the container containing the reduced metal into the melting furnace. The method may further includes, before the step of loading the container containing the reduced metal into the melting furnace, a step of cooling the surface of the container so that the surface temperature of the container is 500° C. or less.

摘要: An interface in accordance with IEEE 1284 has a signal output stage which is a totem pole circuit. The totem pole circuit may be damaged if its output signal line is left grounded for an extended period of time or if outputs are being delivered at both ends of the signal line. Drive by the totem pole circuit is limited to a case where a signal to be output is at a low level and to a length of time equivalent to, say, one clock period from the moment the signal makes a transition from the low to a high level. A high impedance is established at all other times during which the high level is in effect, with the high level being maintained by a pull-up resistor connected to the output signal line. As a result, the totem pole circuit will not be damaged even if the output line is grounded while at the high level.

摘要: A recording apparatus records an image on a recording medium by scanning by a recording head. Mask data for masking record data is set in registers, a record timing signal synchronized with the scan of the recording head is counted up by a counter, and the mask data set in the registers is selected by selectors in accordance with the count. The selected mask data is logically ANDed with the record data to drive the recording head. A load to software is reduced and the recording is attained while the record data is masked with a simple construction.

摘要: At the portions of the metallic gasket according to the present invention which are around perforations the inner diameter of which is smaller than that of holes for combustion chamber, the thickness of at least the folded portions and the portions of an elastic metallic plate on which these folded portions are laminated are reduced to a level in the range from a level not higher than that of the thickness of said metallic plate to a level not lower than that of a half of the thickness of said metallic plate. These thickness-reduced portions of the metallic plate are bent onto the bead-ridge-carrying side thereof to form folded portions, whereby the thickness of the folded portions is reduced to provide a difference in height between the folded portions and the bead-surrounding portions of the metallic plate. The metallic plate is heat treated after the folding step has been completed, to regulate the hardness of the metallic plate.
