摘要： An information signal recording system arranged to divide original information signals into signal groups, each bearing a predetermined amount of information, to have a plurality of compressing modes for different information compressing ratios and to compress the information signals of each group in one of the different compressing ratios in recording these signals on a tape-shaped magnetic recording medium comprises first compressed information signal forming means which operates on all these groups to form and produce a first compressed information signal consisting of only the information signals of a specific part of each of these groups; second compressed information signal forming means which operates on some of these groups to form and produce a second compressed information signal consisting of information signals of each groups excluding the information signals of the specific part; a magnetic head which records signals on the tape-shaped magnetic recording medium by tracing the medium in a direction of crossing the longitudinal direction of the medium; and supply means for supplying the magnetic head with the first and second compressed information signals by switching them from one over to the other at every half of the medium tracing period of the magnetic head.

摘要： An image information signal transmitting system of this invention is a system which divides an image information signal for one picture constituted by a set of picture element data into blocks each constituted by a predetermined quantity of picture element data, transmits the picture element data on each of the blocks on the basis of a mode selected from among a plurality of transmission modes each of which allows a different quantity of picture element data to be transmitted and a mode information signal indicative of the transmission mode of each of the blocks, and restores the picture element data on each of the blocks to the original image information signal. The system is arranged to store the transmitted picture element data, read out the stored picture element data at a data readout rate of one kind which is selected from among a plurality of different data readout rates and which corresponds to the kind of transmission mode indicated by the transmitted mode information signal, and implement a data restoring processing on the picture element data thus read on the basis of a data restoring processing of one kind which is selected from among a plurality of different data restoring processings and which corresponds to the kind of transmission mode indicated by the transmitted mode information signal. With this arrangement, it is possible to realize reductions in the size, weight and cost of the apparatus without deteriorating an image information signal to be transmitted.

摘要： A video signal recording apparatus includes a memory for storing a one-picture portion of an input video signal. An overlapping device gradually switches a first video signal, read from the memory, to a second video signal during a first predetermined time period, and provides an output video signal. A recording device records the video signal output from the overlapping device. A first manual operation member sets the video signal recording apparatus to an overlap mode, in which the overlapping device is operated in response to a start of recording by the recording device. A second manual operation member sets the video signal recording apparatus to an interval recording mode, in which the recording device is periodically operated to record during every second predetermined time period. A determination device determines the first and second predetermined time periods such that the second predetermined time period is longer than the first predetermined time period when the video signal recording apparatus is in the overlap mode and in the interval recording mode.

In response to an operation of a manually operable freeze key, writing the video signals to the memory is inhibited, and reading the video signals from the memory is continuously performed. In response to a continuous operation of the freeze key in excess of a predetermined time period, the video signals of one frame are periodically written to the memory, and the video signals in the memory are continuously read. Various special effects can be given to images upon an operation of the single freeze key.

摘要： In an apparatus for recording an information signal on a recording medium forming many parallel tracks on the medium and for reproducing the information signal from the medium, a tracking control system is arranged to record a pilot signal of a given frequency along with the information signal in the first of the many tracks; to have the pilot signal also recorded in second and third tracks adjoining the first track on both sides thereof but at pilot signal phases shifted from the pilot signal phase of the first track to equal degrees in the directions opposite to each other at parts of the second and third tracks aligned perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction of the first track; and, in reproducing the information signal, the position of the recording medium and that of a reproducing head relative to each other are controlled on the basis of the pilot signal of the given frequency reproduced by the reproducing head from the first track along with the information signal.
