摘要: The phosphor A2DSi2O7:Eu2+, where A is at least one of Ba, Sr, Ca and D is Mg and Zn absorbs UV light, for example from an LED, and converts the UV light to green light. The phosphor can be combined with a red phosphor such as Y2O3:Eu3+,Bi3+ and one or more blue phosphors such as SECA ((Sr,Ba,Ca)5(PO4)3Cl:Eu2+) and BAM (BaMg2Al16O27:Eu2+) to produce white light. Also, a light emitting apparatus is disclosed which comprises at least one of a red, green and blue phosphor for absorbing and converting ultraviolet radiation from a light emitting semiconductor into visible light. A laser diode can be used to activate the phosphors to provide improved efficiency and brightness.

摘要: A current limiting device utilizes an electrically conductive composite material and an inhomogeneous distribution of resistance structure. The current limiting device has a conducting filler and at least two electrodes, where at least one of the electrodes comprises a grooved electrode structure. The grooved electrode structure maintains contact between the electrodes and the composite material, even with consumption of the composite material and production of residue during a high current condition.

摘要: An energy storage device includes a housing having an interior surface defining a volume and a plurality of solid electrolyte elements disposed in the volume. Each solid electrolyte element has a first surface that defines at least a portion of a first, cathodic chamber, and a second surface that defines a second, anodic chamber. A plurality of individual anodic chambers are thus provided, at least one of which is evacuated below atmospheric pressure. A majority of anodic chambers can be spaced from one another in a manner that provides a substantially uniform reaction rate throughout the cathodic chamber. The housing and the plurality of solid electrolyte elements together may be configured to define a second volume devoid of solid electrolyte elements and that is sufficient in size to accommodate a desired number of solid electrolyte elements and to provide an accessible cathodic chamber filling point and that is further sufficient in size to alter the volume of the cathodic chamber with respect to the volume of the plurality of anodic chambers to achieve a desired volumetric ratio between the cathodic and anodic chambers.

摘要: A method of processing a multilayer film is provided. The method includes providing a substrate film having a substrate film first surface and a substrate film second surface. The method also includes providing a barrier layer adjacent to the substrate film second surface. The barrier layer has at least one opening allowing fluid communication between the substrate film and an outer surface of the barrier layer. Further, the method includes contacting the substrate film first surface with a first reactant and finally contacting the outer surface of the barrier layer with a second reactant, said second reactant being reactive with said first reactant. The method of contacting the substrate film first surface to the first reactant and contacting the outer surface of the barrier layer to the second reactant is carried out under conditions under which reaction between said first reactant and the second reactant results in a formation of a reaction layer.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention include a selective deposition method that allows for coating of selective portions of an object, such as an electronic device, and inhibits coating of other selective portions of the object, such as the electric contacts. The selective deposition method includes providing a web to transport the object through a deposition chamber. The web may include and reference mechanisms to register the object relative to the web. The method further includes providing deposition material and a shadow mask that has open spaces in it to inhibit coating selective portions of the object. The deposition material serves as the coating material.

摘要: Processes for simultaneously encapsulating multiple optoelectronic devices and/or depositing a barrier film onto multiple substrates suitable for fabrication of optoelectronic devices thereon include the use of a plasma deposition apparatus having multiple pairs of opposing electrodes for deposition of reactants onto the substrate that is used to form the device or the complete device itself. The processes significantly reduce tact time relative to one at a time batch processing that is currently used for manufacturing optoelectronic devices.
