    摘要: This invention relates to novel processes for the production of enhanced yields of polyalkylaromatic polysulfonic acids. More particularly, the invention pertains to processes for sulfonating polyalkylaromatic compounds employing sulfuric acid treatment and recovering the polyalkylaromatic polysulfonic acid produced thereby after formation of a three phase system by the addition of controlled amounts of water, causing the polysulfonic acid to accumulate in the bottom layer, with which it is readily separated.

    摘要: Amino resins, e.g., ureaformaldehyde and melamine-formaldehyde thermosetting resin systems, are catalyzed with high molecular weight polyalkylaromatic polysulfonic acids, e.g., dinonylnaphthalene disulfonic acid and didodecylnaphthalene disulfonic acid. Resins cured with such catalysts provide surface coatings having superior properties. The catalyzed compositions can include other conventional ingredients, capable of co-reacting with the amino resins, such as polyols, polyacids, alkyd resins, polyester resins, and the like, to provide compositions curable to products having a wide range of properties.
