摘要:
The present application relates to methods for the simultaneous leaching and extraction of precious metals. For example, the present application relates to methods of leaching and extracting gold and/or palladium from a substance comprising gold and/or palladium such as a gold and/or palladium-containing ore in one step using a compound of Formula I: (I)

Refining of either niobium hydroxide or tantalum hydroxide containing transition metals as impurities is accomplished easily and economically by dissolving the metal hydroxide in an aqueous solution of either hydrofluoric acid or oxalic acid, adjusting the pH of the solution to 1 to 4 and adding ammonium pyrrolidinedithiocarbamate (APDC) to the solution while maintaining the temperature of the solution below 60.degree. C. The addition of APDC causes the transition metals to simultaneously precipitate as coordination compounds. The minimum amount of APDC is 0.05 wt % of Nb.sub.2 O.sub.5 or Ta.sub.2 O.sub.5 that can be formed from Nb or Ta contained in the solution. After the treatment with APDC the pH of the solution is raised to 6 or above to precipitate the refined metal hydroxide.

摘要:
A heavy metal can be removed from waste water, in which the metal is contained as ions, by adding to the waste water a metal scavenger together with at least one of sodium monosulfide, sodium polysulfides and sodium hydrogensulfide to form a metal ion containing floc. The resulting floc is then removed from the waste water by filtration. The metal scavenger contains at least one carbodithio group and/or at least one carbodithioate salt group as N-substituents per molecule.

There is described a process for the separation and purification of the platinum group metals from base metal out of acidic aqueous solutions. For this purpose there is used a substituted thiourea of the formulaR.sub.1 R.sub.2 N--CS--NH--CO--R.sub.3orR.sub.1 R.sub.2 N--CS--NH--COOR.sub.3as the precipitation agent. Preferably there are employed N,N-diaklyl-N'-benzoylthiourea wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are methyl, n-butyl, or n-hexyl.

A process for the separation of the actinides and lanthanides present in the trivalent state in an acid aqueous solution, wherein the actinides present in such aqueous solution are extracted selectively in an organic solvent by bringing the solution into contact with an organic solvent comprising a first extracting agent formed by an organic bonding agent having an electron-donor nitrogen atom and a second extracting agent formed by an acid organosoluble organic compound able to exchange its H.sup.+ ions for metal ions or by metallic salt of such compound.Application to the nuclear industry, inter alia in the field of the treatment of aqueous effluents containing lanthanides and actinides, such an transuranic elements.
摘要:
The process comprises the steps of leaching the concentrate with hot hydrochloric acid and chlorine gas to dissolve most of the gold, platinum and palladium, treating the residue from the leaching step with an excess of an alkaline oxidizing agent to solubilize the ruthenium, slurrying the resulting solids in water, combining the precious metal values from the slurry with the liquor from the leaching step and releaching the resulting slurry with hot hydrochloric acid and chlorine. The leach liquor which is then separated from the remaining solids is a chloride solution which contains substantially all the platinum group metals and gold present in the concentrate.

Disclosed is a process for separating gold from acidic solutions having a pH below about 3 which comprises the steps of:(a) adding a sufficient amount of the sodium salt of 2-mercaptopyridine-N-oxide to cause at least a portion of the gold in the aqueous acidic solution precipitate from the solution; and(b) separating the precipitated gold from the acidic solution. Also disclosed is that gold is selectively precipitated from acidic solutions containing other metals [e.g., Fe, Cu, Zn, Sn] when the molar ratio of added sodium 2-mercaptopyridine-N-oxide to gold in the acidic solution is less than about 1.5:1.

Certain sulfonamidophenols, metal complexes thereof and solutions of said compounds in essentially water-immiscible, liquid hydrocarbon solvents are disclosed. The sulfonamidophenols have the structural formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are as defined in the specification and claims hereof. Particular metal values are recovered from their aqueous solutions by using sulfonamidophenols dissolved in essentially water-immiscible liquid hydrocarbon solvents. The extraction process involves contacting the metal value containing aqueous solution with the solution of sulfonamidophenol in essentially water-immiscible liquid hydrocarbon solvent and stripping the metal values from the loaded organic phase.
