摘要: A region of a borehole with one or more openings to be sealed off, such as one or more fractures, voids, and or pores, may or may not be sealed off around a tubular string with a borehole seal such as a packer or plug. A carrying fluid may be utilized to transport a filtration material into the opening to create a bridge, which at least partially seals the opening, but still provides a flow path that permits fluid flow therethrough. A solid material and/or settable material may then utilize the fluid flow subsequently or be simultaneously spotted with or behind the filtration material to thereby form compositions which effectively seals off the flow path into the one or more openings.

摘要: The present invention provides a master-slave architecture for a radio frequency RF networked lighting control system having all slave elements (ballasts) configured as backups for a network master control unit. In the system and method of the present invention a slave element can become the network master network unit without reconfiguring the network and without any human intervention. Similarly, both a master and one or more slave elements may recover from a temporary outage without necessitating reconfiguration of the network and without any human intervention.

摘要: This invention relates to peptide ligand discovery and is particularly directed to a method for the discovery of agonists for membrane bound receptors. The inventive detection system involves the use of a "tethered" ligand for probing receptor binding. The general detection system includes a membrane, a membrane bound receptor, and a chimeric ligand presenting molecule. This chimeric protein forms the tethered ligand and in turn includes a membrane domain, a linker domain, a ligand domain, and a cleavable terminal domain. The "ligands" of the system are exposed by the addition of a specific peptidase that cleaves at the designated sequence. The sequence of the ligand that produces signal as a result of the interaction between the agonist and receptor can be then be isolated using sib selection.

摘要: An electronic design automation (EDA) tool for increasing the fault coverage of an integrated circuit (IC) design includes a processor that inserts at least one XOR gate, an AND gate, an OR gate and a multiplexer between observation test points and an existing first scan flip-flop of the IC design. The XOR gate provides an observation test signal to the first scan flip-flop by way of the AND gate, the OR gate, and the multiplexer such that the observation test signal covers the presence of faults at the observation test points. The first scan flip-flop outputs a data input signal, a set of test patterns, and a first set of test signals based on the observation test signal to indicate whether the IC design is faulty or not. A testable IC that can be structurally tested is fabricated using the IC design.

摘要: A digital decoder, used in a reconfigurable circuit, for decoding digital pulses includes a phase indicator module having inputs coupled to a reference pulse input and a data pulse input. The phase indicator module has timing information outputs that provide logic values indicative of rising and falling edges of pulses occurring on the reference pulse input and the data pulse input. A phase decoder module has inputs coupled to the timing information outputs, and outputs decoded binary data values. In operation, the phase decoder module compares at least two of the logic values at the timing information outputs with a signal representative leading and trailing edges of a pulse applied to one of the phase inputs to determine a pulse arrival order sequence on the phase inputs and thereby provide the decoded binary data values.

摘要: A method for fabricating a magnetic recording transducer having a magnetic writer pole with a short effective throat height is provided. In an embodiment, a writer structure comprising a magnetic writer pole having a trailing bevel and a nonmagnetic stack on the top surface of the writer pole is provided. A dielectric write gap layer comprising alumina is deposited over the trailing bevel section and the nonmagnetic stack; and at least one etch stop layer is deposited over the dielectric write gap layer. A layer of nonmagnetic fill material is deposited over the etch stop layer and to form a nonmagnetic bevel by performing a dry etch process. The etch stop layer(s) are removed from the short throat section; and a trailing shield is deposited over the short throat section, nonmagnetic bevel, and nonmagnetic stack top surface.
