Abstract:
A system and method for determining oversensing during post-processing of sensing data generated by a medical device that includes transmitting a plurality of stored sensing data generated by the medical device to an access device, the stored sensing data including sensed atrial events and sensed ventricular events. The access device determines, in response to the transmitted data, instances where the medical device identified a cardiac event being detected in response to the sensing data, identifies and removes suspected far-field R-waves, and determines whether a signal including the removed suspected far-field R-waves is regular.

A combustion liner for a gas turbine combustion system is provided. The combustion liner comprises a combustion zone between an inlet end and an exhaust end. The combustion liner comprises a one-piece casting construction. The combustion liner is formed from a nickel-based superalloy having strength characteristics.
Abstract:
A door latch system for an automotive vehicle includes a latch having a housing mounted to a door inner panel and a release lever operated by a release rod connected to a handle. An impact-responsive release lever immobilizer mounted within the door is responsive to deformation of the door in the event of an impact such that the release lever will be blocked and prevented from moving to its unlatched position.
Abstract:
A method for identifying and classifying various types of oversensing in implantable medical devices (IMDs), such as implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), to assist a physician in choosing corrective action to reduce the likelihood of oversensing and inappropriate therapy delivery. Far-field electrogram (EGM) signals are analyzed to detect the occurrence of R-waves, and the result is compared to the number and pattern of R-waves sensed by the IMD and indicated on the marker channel. A marker channel with more sensed R-waves than indicated by analysis of the far-field EGM indicates the presence of oversensing, including double-counting of R-waves, T-wave oversensing, lead malfunction or failure, poor lead connections, noise associated with electromagnetic interference, non-cardiac myopotentials, etc. Identification of the type of oversensing may be determined by analysis of the number and pattern of marker channel sensed R-waves with respect to the timing of the R-waves detected from the far-field EGM.

A battery has a housing, a cover, and a seal engaged with the cover. The cover has an outer edge and is connected to the housing at the outer edge. The cover includes at least one portion of reduced thickness between the outer edge of the cover and the seal.
Abstract:
A wood product is made from treating wood with two solutions, in series, including a penetrating solution and a topcoat composition. The penetrating solution is made up of boric acid, a metallocene catalyst, a free radical initiator, a first film-forming polymer and an adhesion promoter. The topcoat includes a second continuous film-forming polymer. Application of the penetrating solution to the wood gets the solution into the wood to cross-link boric acid with cellulose fibers, then the topcoat forms the continuous film. The topcoat seals in the penetrating solution so that it does not leach out during subsequent exposure to water and weather, allowing soluble salts such as borax to migrate and infiltrate deeper into the wood. Microbiological growth is prevented by several mechanisms.
Abstract:
A method and medical device for discriminating an arrhythmia that includes an input circuit sensing cardiac signals and a microprocessor identifying an event associated with the sensed cardiac signals as a first arrhythmia event. A first circuit delivers a first therapy, substantially simultaneous with coupling of a charging circuit and an energy storage device to generate stored energy on the energy storage device, in response to the first arrhythmia event, and a control circuit controls delivery of the first therapy by the first circuit. The microprocessor evaluates a physiologic response to the delivered first therapy and determines the event is other than the first arrhythmia event in response to the evaluated physiologic response.
Abstract:
A method according to one embodiment may include receiving an input/output (I/O) request to write data stored on at least one target device comprised in at least one local storage array. The method of this embodiment may also include generating one or more I/O transactions capable of writing data on at least one target device comprised in at least one remote storage array. Of course, many alternatives, variations, and modifications are possible without departing from this embodiment.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus and process for producing a thin organic film on a substrate using an ultrasonic nozzle to produce a cloud of micro-droplets in a vacuum chamber. The micro-droplets move turbulently within the vacuum chamber, isotropically impacting and adhering to the surface of the substrate. The resulting product has a smooth, continuous, conformal, and uniform organic thin film, when the critical process parameters of micro-droplet size, shot size, vacuum chamber pressure, and timing are well-controlled, and defects such as “orange peel” effect and webbing are avoided. The apparatus includes an improved ultrasonic nozzle assembly that comprises vacuum sealing and a separate, independent passageway for introducing a directed purging gas.
