Abstract:
A removable thumbturn core assembly which replaces a key core assembly after removing a key cylinder with a control key. The control key feature is preserved for removing the key cylinder.
Abstract:
An integrated manufacture and design system and a database translator that allows use of a subset of data directly from a CAD database to provide the necessary control data for use in a CAM assembly system. A database translator according to the present invention can examine the CAD data specifying a product, determine which of the component parts of that product are unknown to the CAM assembly system, and can insert into the CAM assembly system's database whatever new information the CAM system requires to manufacture the product. The invention may be embodied as a number of software modules on a fixed medium such as a computer readable disk or computer memory.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a means for producing a laminar output of fluid which is substantially turbulence free. The present invention utilizes an input tank or enclosure which includes turbulence reducing and flow straightening devices for producing a turbulent free output flow of water. This enclosure uses a tangential input port to introduce water to the enclosures which results in much more uniform and controllable flow profiles of the water through the device. The entire device may be situated entirely beneath the surface of a pool, pond or fountain, with a clear glass or plastic tube extending above the water level to provide a visibly nonintrusive protective path for the laminar output flow.
Abstract:
A light display system and device for use in a body of water or other liquid is described. The light display device may be controlled remotely via a control hub and/or control panel, or controlled by internally preprogrammed commands. A plurality of light display devices may be controlled in selected, choreographed sequences to provide various unique visual displays including, for example, geometrical patterns and/or naturalistic patterns giving the impression of organic phenomena such as swarming fireflies, bioluminescent creatures and the like.
Abstract:
A light source generally comprising a light tube configured with artificial light sources and sustainable sources of energy is disclosed. The light source may provide natural light during daylight hours, and a combination of natural light and artificial light, or only artificial light during hours when natural light is diminished or not available. The resultant light output may be constant and the artificial light may be powered by sustainable energy sources such as solar panels and rechargeable batteries.
Abstract:
A water display is described including a wall or other structure upon which streams of water are shot. The direction, velocity, pressure and flow rate of the water streams may be varied to provide entertaining visual effects, which may also be choreographed with music, lighting or other features.
Abstract:
A device to moving a water shooter is described. The device may contain features that allow the device to travel submerged in a reservoir with a water shooter attached. The device may travel along a fixed track, rotational boom, or be free swimming in order to move the water shooter within the reservoir so that unique water effects may be achieved.
Abstract:
A water delivery device is described which includes an outlet pipe through which water is ejected to provide a water display. A disk is positioned relative to the outlet pipe. The relative positions of the disk and outlet pipe are moved so that the disk is located within the outlet pipe or above it to alter the appearance of the water leaving the outlet pipe. As the relative position of the disk and outlet pipe varies, a sequence of water expressions is provided.
Abstract:
A display where lights may be programmed to randomly flash is described. The randomness may be changed by changing the mode of flashing. The lights may extend along strings that are powered by a power supply that may itself be plugged into a socket that had previously served as a light socket. The display may be added to existing displays to enhance existing visual effects. The display may be submerged and the lights may remain upright because of their buoyancy.
Abstract:
This disclosure provides the construction, expression, and selection of the mutated genes that encode novel Trp cage polypeptides with desirable binding properties, as well as the novel Trp cage polypeptides themselves. The substances or targets bound by these novel Trp cage polypeptides may be but need not be proteins or polypeptides. Targets may include other biological or synthetic macromolecules as well as other organic and inorganic substances. Further, targets may also include a single or multiple cell or tissue types. The present invention achieves genetic variants of Trp cage-encoding nucleic acids through controlled random mutagenesis of the nucleic acids yielding a mixture of Trp cage polypeptides that are capable of binding targets.
