Abstract: A mobile communication system includes a movable user equipment device, a plurality of base station devices configured to perform radio communication with the user equipment device, and a relay device movably configured to relay radio communications between the user equipment device and the base station devices. In a handover process of switching a base station device to be connected with the relay device from a base station device being a moving source to a base station device being a moving destination along with moving of the relay device, the base station device being a moving source selects the base station device being a moving destination from base station devices other than a base station device that does not have a function supporting the relay device, and performs the handover process such that the relay device is connected to the selected base station device.

Abstract: A communication system capable of preventing unnecessary switching of an energy saving cell between a normal operation state and an energy saving state. An energy saving cell (ES cell) is in a dormant state that is the energy saving state. In this case, when being notified of a wake-up request message from a communication terminal device (UE), the ES cell executes access restriction control to judge whether the UE can access its own cell. If judging that the UE can access its own cell, the ES cell switches on its own cell and shifts from the dormant state to an active state that is the normal operation state.

Abstract: A communication system capable of a stable communication operation between a base station device and a communication terminal device. A UE is configured to communicate with an MeNB directly or through a SeNB. The UE is set to transmit, to the MeNB and the SeNB, transmission data addressed to the MeNB when an amount of the transmission data exceeds a predetermined threshold. The UE is set to transmit the transmission data not to the SeNB but to the MeNB when the amount is smaller than or equal to the threshold. The threshold is changed so that the transmission data is transmitted to the MeNB and the SeNB, when the SeNB is set to communicate with the UE with radio resources periodically allocated and the amount of the transmission data is smaller than or equal to the threshold.

Abstract: A narrow-bandwidth terminal device performs radio communication at a bandwidth narrower than a system bandwidth. The narrow-bandwidth terminal device in an idle state camps on a cell, and performs discontinuous reception of a signal transmitted from the cell. The terminal device also determines a reception condition of the signal, for example, whether the signal can be received. When it is determined that the signal cannot be received, the narrow-bandwidth terminal device moves out of a coverage area of the cell while continuing to perform the discontinuous reception. When it is determined that a discontinuous reception timer has been completed, the narrow-bandwidth terminal device continues to perform the discontinuous reception.

Abstract: A communication system is provided that, if a large number of small cells are installed, is capable of configuring an operation suitable for small cells through simple operation and administration. If a small cell installed in Step ST1401 judges in Step ST1403 that a coverage macro cell, which includes the small cell in the coverage of the coverage macro cell, is present as a result of neighbor cell search in Step ST1402, notifies the coverage macro cell and another neighbor cell of its own capability in Steps ST1404 and 1405. The coverage macro cell selects a configuration parameter suitable for the capability of the small cell in Step ST1406 and notifies the small cell in Step ST1407. The small cell recognizes an operation mode configured by the coverage macro cell from the configuration parameter notified from the coverage macro cell, and then, starts operating in the operation mode.
