Abstract:
A method, computer program and apparatus operate when resuming data transmission/reception upon activation of a serving cell, or after a long in-device coexistence interference avoidance gap, to determine whether to report to a network access node an in-device coexistence interference indicator value and send the in-device coexistence interference indicator value to the network access node, The in-device coexistence interference indicator value is reported to the network access node for a certain period if any periodic channel quality indication resource is configured for the cell, or if an aperiodic channel quality indication for the cell is requested from the network access node.
Abstract:
An apparatus of a communication network detects that a modification of a radio resource control connection for a user equipment is required. The apparatus decides, based on the detected modification requirement, if a re-establishment of a packet data convergence protocol is required for a first radio bearer and/or a second radio bearer, and indicates, in a radio resource control reconfiguration message, the first radio bearer and/or the second radio bearer for which re-establishment of the packet data convergence protocol is required. The user equipment detects, from the radio resource control reconfiguration message, that a modification of a radio resource control connection between the user equipment and the communication network is required, and re-establishes the packet data convergence protocol for the first radio bearer and/or the second radio bearer in accordance with the indication set in the radio resource control reconfiguration message.
Abstract:
A technique is provided for retransmitting data in a dual connectivity network in which a mobile station (MS) is connected to a first base station (BS) via a first radio link and to a second BS via a second radio link, including sending, by a first protocol entity of the MS, a protocol data unit (PDU) to a first entity of a second protocol of the MS for transmission to the first BS via the first radio link, detecting a trigger condition at the MS associated with the PDU, and re-sending, by the first protocol entity of the MS, the PDU to a second entity of the second protocol of the MS for transmission to the second BS via the second radio link.
Abstract:
Various communication systems may benefit from buffer reporting. For example, in systems in which user equipment may use dual connectivity, it may be useful to provide cross-reporting of empty or non-empty buffers to each base station. A method can include determining, at a device for a plurality of cell groups, whether there is data to transmit on each cell group. The method can also include cross-reporting, to a base station of a first cell group of the plurality of cell groups, a buffer status indication corresponding to a second cell group of the plurality of cell groups. The buffer status indication can be a binary indication corresponding to the second cell group.
Abstract:
A technique is provided to control transmitting, by a mobile station (MS) that uses carrier aggregation, a message including an interoperability test (IOT) indication for one or more uplink-downlink (UL-DL) configuration combinations of time-division-duplex (TDD) radio frames for use by a primary cell and a secondary cell. In one example implementation, an IOT indication may be provided for one or more (or each) uplink-downlink configuration combinations (e.g., one IOT indication per UL-DL configuration combination). In another example implementation, an IOT indication may be provided for one or more sets of uplink-downlink configuration combinations, where each set may include a plurality of UL-DL configuration combinations.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses for carrier aggregation with discontinuous reception is disclosed. At least two different time division duplexing configurations can be communicated from serving cells to a device, the subframes of the at least two different configurations being counted for purposes of operating at least one timer function according to a predefined rule of counting. Discontinuous communications by the serving cells with the device are controlled based on the predefined rule of counting such that at least one timer function associated with discontinuous reception from the serving cells is operated based on the counting.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus are disclosed, wherein a configuration of at least one channel monitoring related timer is defined such that the effective value of the channel monitoring related timer is mapped to a coverage enhancement CE level. The apparatus performs monitoring of downlink control channel sub-frames transmitted from a network element to a terminal device, according to said configuration of the channel monitoring related timer.
Abstract:
Method and apparatus for reception of data units in a device by means of a first protocol and a second protocol are disclosed. A control function of the second protocol is informed of interruption in a control function of the first protocol. In response thereto a reordering timer of the second protocol is considered as having expired, and a state variable of the second protocol is updated to equal with a highest received state variable.
