    摘要: A system and method are provided for initiating a secured bi-directional communication session with an implantable medical device. The system and method include configuring a pulse generator (PG) device and an external device to establish a communication link there between through a wireless protocol with a defined bonding procedure. The system and method also include transmitting a static identification and dynamic seed from the PG device through a dedicated advertisement channel to the external device and generating a passkey from a pre-defined algorithm based on the dynamic seed and a static identification. Further, the system and method include starting the defined bonding procedure.

    摘要: A method is provided for a bridge device to interface between an external device and an implantable medical device (“IMD”), the bridge device includes a system on a chip (“SoC”) having a memory, an input/output interface, a standard wireless computer network (“SWCN”) controller and a bridge controller integrated into a single integrated circuit (“IC”). The method includes configuring the bridge controller to convert data between a Medical Implant Communication Service (MICS) protocol and a SWCN protocol, coupling a MICS controller to the SoC, and configuring the MICS controller to manage operation of a first transceiver based on the MICS protocol. The method includes configuring the SWCN controller to manage operation of a second transceiver based on the SWCN protocol, communicating between the bridge device and an IMD utilizing the first transceiver, and communicating between the bridge device and an external device utilizing the second transceiver.

    摘要: A method and device for managing establishment of a communications link between an external instrument (EI) and an implantable medical device (IMD) are provided. The method stores, in a memory in at least one of the IMD or the EI, a base scanning schedule that defines a pattern for scanning windows over a scanning state. The method enters the scanning state during which a receiver scans for advertisement notices during the scanning windows. At least a portion of the scanning windows are grouped in a first segment of the scanning state. The method stores, in the memory, a scan reset pattern for restarting the scanning state. Further, the method automatically restarts the scanning state based on the scan reset pattern to form a pseudo-scanning schedule that differs from the base scanning schedule and establishes a communication session between the IMD and the EI.
