摘要: A lockable cover for a ground opening such as a manhole or catch basin. The cover has a lock including a reciprocating locking bolt mounted to its underside for engagement of a lip of a surrounding support. The bolt is accessible directly from above the cover through an aperture in the cover. In one disclosed embodiment, a cover is secured to its support by a pin which extends from the cover to under a lip of the support and a lock. In another embodiment, a catch basin cover is secured to its support through a hinge connection and a lock. In another embodiment, a manhole cover is secured to its support through a pair of locks.

摘要: A method and apparatus of treating tissue adjacent to a bodily conduit using thermotherapy, while preventing obstructions of the bodily conduit due to edema employs the circulation of warmed fluid to maintain the temperature of the bodily conduit walls and compresses the tissue to be treated to increase the effectiveness of the irradiated heat. An energy-emitting source containing catheter is inserted in a bodily conduit and is positioned in a region of the tissue to be treated so that the energy-emitting source radiates energy to the tissue to be treated. Fluid warmed to over 30° C. is circulated into and through the catheter to warm walls of the bodily conduit adjacent the catheter. The warmed circulated fluid inflates a balloon to a pressure to compress the tissue to form a natural stent that remains after the catheter and compression balloon are removed.

摘要: A method of improving the accuracy of a variable orifice flow meter that includes characterizing the flow coefficient of the flow meter orifice for different orifice openings and for different differential pressures. The method may be particularly useful with a flow metering and controlling device that includes a fluid flow conduit having at least one planar inner wall and an element having a linear edge configured to mate with the at least one planar inner wall of the fluid flow conduit. The element is movable relative to the conduit to define a flow orifice and vary a cross-sectional area of the orifice. The device also includes a processor configured to calculate the fluid flow based on the cross-sectional area of the orifice, the differential pressure, and the flow coefficient.

摘要: Pigment pre-dispersions for use with ionomers, methods for making pigment pre-dispersions for use with ionomers, pigmented ionomers, and multilayer films containing pigmented ionomers are disclosed. The pigment pre-dispersions generate or maintain a minimal pigment particle size in order to optimize the dispersability of the pigment in an ionomer upon a single pass through processing equipment. The carrier of the pigment pre-dispersion is chosen based on compatibility parameters, such as refractive index and viscosity, to be compatible with the ionomer. Carriers can include acid copolymers, acid terpolymers, ionomers, polyethylenes, ethylene vinyl acetate, and ethylene methacrylate. The pigmented ionomers created from these pigment pre-dispersions have well dispersed pigment with a particle size of less than or equal to about 25 micrometers. Films or sheets can be created from the pigmented ionomers and the pigmented ionomers can be used in mulitlayer films.

摘要: An exercise device with a constraining handle. The disclosure includes a garment having a first end and a second end. A member is disposed between the first end and the second end in order to flexibly position around a body part. The device further includes a plurality of pockets uniformly disposed around the member. Additionally, a handle fastens within the member near the first end, wherein the handle connects with the body part to maintain contact between the body part and the member while the body part performs exercise movements. The disclosure further includes a method of using the garment while the body part moves through exercise techniques. The method comprises inserting a body part through a body area of a member and uniformly disposing the member around the body part. Next, the body part connects with a handle of the member which constrains the body part to the member while the body part performs exercise techniques.

摘要: The invention provides an optical film comprising a transparent support with an antireflection layer substantially conformed in shape to the surface underlying the layer, the antireflection layer containing a binder polymer having dispersed polymer particles which are nanovoided so as to have a surface area greater than 50 m2/gm and which fill 64% or less of the layer volume. The film provides improved anti-reflection without the expected increase in transmission haze.

摘要: Methods and systems for processing uncalcined coke are provided. The methods and systems provide for combusting effluent gas from a refinery unit and a stream of uncalcined coke. The refinery unit effluent gas may be the offgas from a rotary kiln calciner. The refinery unit effluent gas and the uncalcined coke stream are combusted in an integrated gas/solids incinerator. Heat released during the combustion of these streams may be used to generate steam or electricity. The methods and systems disclosed provide low cost energy production at calciner effluent gas incinerator locations where uncalcined coke is available.
