    Abstract: Disclosed are devices and processes for processing portions of a downlink signal using multiple receive chains. In one implementation, while message traffic is received at two or more receive chains of a receiver device, an inactivity timing may be initiated following a most recent activity event at the receiver device. Responsive to a request to acquire a portion of a downlink signal at the receiver device following initiation of the inactivity timer, at least one of the two or more receive chains may be scheduled to acquire the portion of the downlink signal. Other, unscheduled receive chains may be transitioned to a lower power state upon expiration of the inactivity timer.

    Abstract: A method for performing inter-frequency positioning measurements on positioning signals periodically transmitted by at least some of a plurality of cells in a wireless communication network is provided. The method includes receiving, at a mobile device, assistance data that identifies a first neighbor cell the plurality of cells, where the first neighbor cell transmits a first positioning signal. The method also includes obtaining a first cell property of the first neighbor cell. The mobile device then adjusts a duration of a first measurement gap in response to the first cell property. In one aspect, the first measurement gap corresponds to a time period during which the mobile device is to perform positioning measurements of the first positioning signal.

    Abstract: Embodiments are directed to a user equipment (UE) that performs MIMO communication on a plurality of Component Carriers (CCs) in accordance with a Carrier Aggregation (CA) scheme with each CC having an associated rank number that indicates a respective number of receive chains for the CC, selects at least one of the plurality of CCs for tuning away from the MIMO communication in order to perform an inter-frequency (IF) Positioning Reference Signal (PRS) measurement, selects, from among a plurality of receive chains allocated to the selected at least one CC, a subset of receive chains that includes less than all of the plurality of receive chains to be tuned away from the MIMO communication to perform the inter-frequency PRS measurement, and tunes the selected subset of receive chains of the selected at least one CC away from the MIMO communication to perform the inter-frequency PRS measurement.

However, the privacy of the messages can be compromised by notifications of the messages at the receiver. For example, a third party may see a visual notification of private text message displayed on a receiving device, such as a smart phone. Provided herein is an apparatus that receives a message, determines a privacy level of the message, selects a mode of notification of the message based on the determined privacy level of the message, and performs a notification action based on the selected mode of notification.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may receive Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) information from a V2X entity, such as a vehicle, road side unit, or other UE carried by a pedestrian. The V2X information may be transmitted to a location server by the UE to obtain positioning assistance data. The location server may determine a coarse position of the UE using the V2X information and generate corresponding positioning assistance data including Positioning Reference Signal (PRS) information for neighbor base stations, which is transmitted to the UE. The UE may detect PRS signals from the neighbor base stations and perform position determination using the PRS signals. The V2X entity or a different V2X entity may also transmit PRS signals that are received by the UE and used along with the PRS signal from the neighbor base stations to perform position determination.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A source user equipment (UE) may determine which subscriber identity module (SIM) card to use based on information of the target UE. For example, the target UE may have poor call quality using a first SIM, but high call quality when using a second SIM. The target UE may indicate the call quality for each SIM in subscription information to the source UE. The source UE may determine to use the second SIM of the target UE instead of the first SIM, resulting in higher call quality for the target UE. The subscription information may include a variety of information related to the target UE, such as subscriptions of the target UE, RAT availabilities for the target UE, etc. The target UE may also configure settings for receiving or rejecting data calls. The target UE may configure whether to receive data calls based on connectivity parameters.
