Abstract: A mobile device is capable of enabling one or more location data sources for location determination of the mobile device. The mobile device may receive a request for an emergency location session, e.g., by a user dialing E911 or from an external client. At least one location data source in the mobile device is determined to be disabled. For example, the location data sources may be a WLAN transceiver or a WPAN transceiver, as well as camera sensors and environmental sensors. The disabled location data source (s) is enabled and location data is obtained from the enabled location data source(s). The location data may be provided, e.g., to a location server. The status of the location data source (s) may be restored, e.g., disabled, after the location data is obtained or after the emergency location session is completed.

Abstract: Methods and techniques are described for enhancing positioning related protocols in order to indicate when one location session is different from another location session. One or more messages provided in a location session by a location server to a user equipment (UE) may include a session indication, such as a session identifier (ID), where a different session ID is provided for each location session. The session indication may be a new session indicator provided in an initial message in a location session or an end session indicator provided in a final message in a location session. An extra message may be sent by the location server indicating that the location session has ended. A correlation ID provided by a network entity to the location server may be included in messages as the session indication, e.g., where a different correlation ID is provided for each location session.

Abstract: Methods and systems for wireless communication are provided. Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for coordinating vehicle platooning with V2X assistance. The techniques generally include: a first vehicle associated with a source UE transmitting a request to a base station to join a vehicle platoon. The request indicates at least one of: an occupancy parameter of a first vehicle associated with the source UE; an autonomy level of the first vehicle; or a travel preference parameter. The occupancy parameter may include a number of passengers, seating positions of passengers, and other occupancy information pertaining safety and prioritization. The autonomy level enables vehicles of similar autonomy to form a platoon that optimizes headways, thus minimizing fuel consumption due to air resistance. The travel preference parameter may include a preferred speed of the source UE. The source UE may receive a response message indicating confirmation that the first vehicle is allowed to join the vehicle platoon.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for performing positioning measurements at a mobile device during a positioning session with a serving cell. In an aspect, the mobile device determines to trigger a coverage-enhanced (CE) mode before a positioning session timeout for the positioning session expires, continues performance of the positioning measurements during the positioning session with the serving cell while the mobile device remains connected to the serving cell due to the triggered CE mode, determines whether the positioning measurements have been completed or the positioning session timeout has expired, and responsive to the determination that the positioning measurements have been completed or that the positioning session timeout has expired, reports, to a network entity in the wireless communications network, actual handover measurements to enable the network entity to make a handover determination.
