Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a grant scheduling repetition-based system information block transmissions for the UE, the grant indicating a mapping configuration identifying time-frequency resources for a second repetition of a system information block transmission relative to a first repetition of the system information block transmission. The UE may receive, in a first subset bandwidth of a system bandwidth, the first repetition of the system information block transmission according to the grant. The UE may receive, in a second subset bandwidth of the system bandwidth, the second repetition of the system information block transmission according to the grant and based at least in part on the mapping configuration.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, information indicating a Layer 1 signal to interference plus noise ratio (L1-SINR) measurement capability of the UE. In some aspects, the information indicating the L1-SINR measurement capability may include one or more individual configurations for one or more resources to carry a reference signal. Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for wireless communication are provided. In some aspects, a base station may send a beam modification command that indicates a set of transmit beam indexes corresponding to a set of transmit beams of a base station, and each transmit beam index of the set of transmit beam indexes may indicate at least a transmit direction for transmitting a transmit beam by the base station. The base station may send, in association with the beam modification command, a reference signal using at least one transmit beam of the set of transmit beams, where a first portion of the reference signal is sent in a first set of symbols and a second portion of the reference signal is received in a second set of symbols.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may use quasi co-located antenna ports for transmission of synchronization signal(s)/reference signal(s) and paging signals. For example, the base station may use a first antenna port configuration for transmission of the synchronization/reference signal(s) and a second antenna port configuration for transmission of the paging signal (e.g., paging indicator, paging message, etc.). The base station may transmit an indication of the quasi co-located antenna ports. A user equipment (UE) may receive the synchronization signal and, based on the antenna ports being quasi co-located, receive the paging signal. In some examples, the UE may determine which receive beam to use to receive the paging signal based on the antenna ports being quasi co-located. In some aspects, the UE may use a reference signal transmitted on antenna ports that are quasi co-located with the paging signal antenna ports.

Abstract: The described techniques provide for the identification and utilization of different power consumption categories by a user equipment (UE) in wireless communications system. A power consumption category may correspond to a power consumption level (e.g., a powered circuitry configuration) of the UE. For example, a power consumption category may configure an analog-to-digital conversion (ADC) resolution, a digital-to-analog conversion (DAC) resolution, a number of antennas, etc., that a UE may employ for communications. In some examples, a UE may report capability information to a base station, and the base station may use the information to explicitly or implicitly (e.g., via conveying thresholds or conditions to the UE for power consumption category switching or power consumption category selection) configure the UE with various power consumption categories. As such, the power consumption categories may be used by the base station and UE, in some scenarios, for reducing power consumption.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that provide for synchronization signal (SS) blocks in which synchronization signals and broadcast channel transmissions may be transmitted. Broadcast channel transmissions may be demodulated using SS transmissions, reference signal transmissions, or combinations thereof. Broadcast channel transmissions may be transmitted in a subset of SS block time resources, and synchronization signals may be transmitted in another subset of SS block time resources. Reference signals may be transmitted using tones within the broadcast channel time resources, and may be transmitted at a higher density for portions of the broadcast channel transmission bandwidth that are outside of the SS transmission bandwidth. Waveforms for reference signal transmissions, and information provided by reference signal transmissions may be provided.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for a scheduled entity to communicate within a wireless communication network. In one aspect, the scheduled entity receives a plurality of neighbor cell measurement relaxation mechanisms from a scheduling entity. The scheduled entity determines one or more channel condition parameters and selects one or more of the pluralities of neighbor cell measurement relaxation mechanisms, based on the determined one or more channel condition parameters. The scheduled entity executes measurement of one or more neighbor cells using the selected one or more neighbor cell measurement relaxation mechanisms.
