    摘要: A manually operated trip operator is inserted within a recess formed in a molded case circuit breaker cover, and extends down within the breaker case to interact with the circuit breaker trip bar. The trip operator is formed from a unitary thermoplastic configuration which integrally includes means for interacting with the circuit breaker trip bar and for biasing the trip operator back to its initial position. The unitary manual trip operator is down-loaded into the circuit breaker cover in an automated circuit breaker assembly process.

    摘要: A circuit breaker operating handle formed from a plastic composition includes a handle access post and a curvilinear handle skirt. A pair of opposedly positioned detent members are integrally-formed on the surface of the handle skirt opposite the handle access post. The detents correspondingly engage the top planar surface of a U-shaped handle yoke which interfaces with the circuit breaker operating mechanism. The circuit breaker operating handle is robotically down-loaded onto the handle operating yoke prior to attachment between the handle yoke and the circuit breaker operating mechanism.

    摘要: A handle interlock arrangement is attached to the top surface of a manually operable circuit breaker operating handle to prevent the handle from being locked in its "OFF" position when the circuit breaker contacts are actually in their closed condition. A handle cover is hingeably attached to the circuit breaker cover and includes a pair of apertures arranged through the opposite sidewalls of the cover. The location of the apertures relative to the circuit breaker operating handle prevents the insertion of a padlock through the apertures when the circuit breaker operating handle is in its "ON" position.

    摘要: An electronically driven trip actuator for multipole industrial rated molded case circuit breakers is installed within a common housing with the circuit breaker operating mechanism. The trip actuator consists of a mechanical actuator cooperatively connected with a magnetic latch. The magentic latch arrangement holds the trip actuator against an actuating spring bias. Upon receiving an appropriate signal response, the magnetic latch releases, allowing the mechanical actuator to move into contact with the circuit breaker latch under the influence of the actuator spring. The arrangement of the mechanical actuator and actuator spring provides a low latching force to the magnetic latch, while providing a large trip force to the circuit breaker latch.

    摘要: A compact current limiting circuit breaker with an electronic trip unit arranged within the circuit breaker cover and current transformers in the circuit breaker case incorporates reinforcement ribs in the cover to provide added strength. The cover also includes line terminal plugs that removably attach to the cover for preventing inadvertent access to the circuit breaker line terminals when the circuit breaker is energized. Protrusions formed on the bottom surface of the circuit breaker cover under the trip unit provide further strength while cooperating with flexible pads on the top of the current transformers to automatically compensate for manufacturing tolerances.

    摘要: Molded case circuit breakers connected to two different sources of power within an industrial application are interlocked to prevent one circuit breaker from being turned on while the other circuit breaker is already on. The circuit breakers include a molded plastic crossbar arranged for rotation within the circuit breaker enclosure. The interlock arrangement consists of a pivoted bell crank assembly including a pair of pivotally mounted insulative posts on either end of the bell crank. A corresponding cam integrally formed on the circuit breaker crossbar is in interference with one of the upstanding posts when the circuit breaker is in the "OFF" position and is out of interference with the upstanding post when the circuit breaker is in its "ON" condition.
