    Abstract: A package that is made of a blown plastic container and a two-piece or composite closure which is secured to a neck portion of the container. The closure includes a molded plastic plug style closure with an inner annular member which engages the inside of the neck of the container, an outer annular member which closely surrounds the outside of the neck of the container and a top panel from which the inner and outer annular members depend and which spans the rim of the container. The second piece of the closure is a molded plastic collar which surrounds the outer annular member of the plug style closure and which is frictionally interlocked therewith. The bottom of the collar has an inwardly and upwardly extending flange which engages a bead on the outside of the neck of the container to interlock the collar and the container. Further, the collar has one or more vertical tear strips to permit the tearing of the collar to thereby permit its removal from the container, and thereby to permit the removal of the plug style closure from the container, and this tearing of the collar imparts tamper indicating characteristics to the closure and to the package which includes such closure. The container has a radial shoulder positioned below the bottom of the collar to prevent the collar from being moved axially downwardly on the container.

    Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and systems for centrally and uniformly controlling the operation of a variety of devices;, such as communication, consumer electronic, audio-video, analog, digital, 1394, and the like, over a variety of protocols within a network system and, more particularly, a control system and uniform user interface for centrally controlling these devices in a manner that appears seamless and transparent to the user. In a preferred embodiment, a command center or hub of a network system includes a context and connection permutation sensitive control system that enables centralized and seamless integrated control of all types of input devices. The control system preferably includes a versatile icon based graphical user interface that provides a uniform, on-screen centralized control system for the network system. The user interface, which includes a visual recognition system, enables the user to transparently control multiple input devices over a variety of protocols while operating on a single control layer of an input command device. In an alternative embodiment, the control system also enables gated signal pass-through control while avoiding signal jamming.

    Abstract: A child-resistant package with a snap-on closure comprising a container having a neck finish including an annular retaining bead having at least one notch therein and a closure having a top and a peripheral skirt. The skirt has a lifting tab on the outer surface thereof and a first radially inwardly extending locking lug on the inner surface thereof adjacent the external lifting tab. A cover cap having a top wall and a peripheral wall is placed over the closure and the peripheral wall of the cover surrounds the peripheral skirt of the closure. An annular band is connected to the lower edge of the peripheral wall of the cover cap by weakened portions. The band includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced radially inwardly extending lugs that project beneath the free edge of the peripheral skirt of the closure so that the cover cap cannot be removed until the band is first removed by severing it from the closure cap. The band normally obscures the view of the indicia on the container that indicates proper alignment of the lug on the closure with the notch on the container. The cover cap normally obscures the view of the construction and indicia on the closure.
