摘要: Apparatus for processing multisheet or manifold business forms assemblies comprises at least one pair of rotary slitters, a male crimping die or punch associated with one of the slitting blades of the pair for rotation therewith, and a female crimping die or punch receptacle associated with the other of the slitting blades for rotation therewith. Upon rotation of the slitters and their associated crimping dies, the manifold assembly is concurrently slit and crimped to produce locks or paper staples in the body of the assembly. These paper staples effectively hold the various sheets of the assembly in registration or alignment during subsequent processing, but readily permit separation of the various sheets of the assembly when desired.

摘要: Apparatus, methods, and systems for centrally and uniformly controlling the operation of a variety of devices, such as communication, consumer electronic, audio-video, analog, digital, 1394, and the like, over a variety of protocols within a network system and, more particularly, a control system and uniform user interface for centrally controlling these devices in a manner that appears seamless and transparent to the user. In a preferred embodiment, a command center or hub of a network system includes a context and connection permutation sensitive control system that enables centralized and seamless integrated control of all types of input devices. The control system preferably includes a versatile icon based graphical user interface that provides a uniform, on-screen centralized control system for the network system. The user interface, which includes a visual recognition system, enables the user to transparently control multiple input devices over a variety of protocols while operating on a single control layer of an input command device. In an alternative embodiment, the control system also enables gated signal pass-through control while avoiding signal jamming.

摘要: A child-resistant closure and container package includes a container having a finish with an external thread and pockets in the thread. A closure has a base wall, a peripheral skirt with an internal thread and lugs on the internal thread for receipt in the pockets, and a spring element on the base wall for engagement with the container finish to bias the closure away from the container finish and resiliently urge the lugs into the pockets. A liner is urged by the spring element into engagement with the container finish. The liner may include a base with metal and plastic layers for induction-welded sealing engagement with the finish such that, upon removal of the closure, the metal and plastic layers remain secured to the finish and the liner base is removed with the closure. The metal and plastic layers may be removed by a user for access to the contents of the container, and the liner base continues to serve as a package seal during use of the package.

摘要: A device for indicating when the air within a tire is above or below an optimum pressure range, comprising a housing having a bore therein in which a piston is movable. The piston is spring biased toward one end of the bore and is normally held in a medial sealing position by air pressure from within the tire. In such sealing position, a sealing ring on the piston engages a sealing section of the bore to prevent movement of air along the bore; when the air pressure exceeds or falls below the optimum range, the sealing ring moves over a relieved portion of the bore and allows air to move along the latter to actuate a whistle carried by the piston. An electronic device senses the whistle and signals the operator.

摘要: A tamper indicating package including a bottle and a molded plastic closure removably secured to the finish portion of the bottle by engaging helical threads on the outside of the bottle finish and the inside of an annular skirt portion of the closure, respectively. The closure is provided with at least one aperture in the annular skirt and a flexible finger on the outside of the annular skirt in radial alignment with the aperture. The flexible finger has a lower end which is affixed to the annular skirt and an upper free end, and the upper free end is deflected inwardly through the aperture, after the molding of the closure, to engage the underside of an annular bead on the finish of the bottle in an interference fit. The annular skirt of the closure is scored along a line above the lower end of the flexible finger to form a breakaway ring in the lower portion of the annular skirt which is frangible with respect to the portion of the closure skirt thereabove and which separates therefrom upon the first opening or attempted opening of the package.
