摘要: Methods and apparatus for spectrally-encoding plural source images and for providing the spectrally-encoded plural source images in a composite image, for rendering the composite image in a physical form, or for recovering at least one of the encoded source images from the rendered composite image such that the recovered source image is made distinguishable. The rendered composite image may be subjected to a varying field of illumination, generated, for example, by a switched sequence of individually activated, differing illuminants. This sequenced array of illuminants causes a corresponding sequence of source images to be recovered in rapid succession, thus imparting a sense of change, such as motion, between or within the recovered source images.

摘要: What is disclosed is a system and method for encoding and decoding data in a color barcode pattern using dot orientation and color separability. The spectral (wavelength) characteristics of the CMY colorants, commonly used in digital printing, and those of RGB sensors are exploited to achieve high capacity data embedding rates in color barcodes. The present method embeds independent data in two different printer colorant channels using dot orientation modulation. In the print end, dots of two colorants occupy the same spatial region. At the detector end, by using the complementary sensor channels to estimate the colorant channels, data is recovered in each colorant channel. The method approximately doubles the capacity of encoding methods based upon a single colorant channel and enables embedding rates which match or exceed that of other hardcopy barcodes known in the arts. The method is robust against inter-separation misregistration with a small symbol error rate.

摘要: What is disclosed is a novel system and method for encoding/decoding data in a cover contone image via halftone dot orientation modulation. Arrays of halftone threshold values are used to determine a desired orientation, e.g. 0/90°+/−45° for a given single data value of the original message to be embedded. Message data is embedded as a function of halftone dot orientation. Detection modeling of the print-scan process enables the determination of dot orientation from the image scan via statistically motivated image moments. A probabilistic model of the print-scan channel conditions received moments on input orientation. Density values of the received moments are used to determine dot orientation for each halftone cell. The embedded data is retrieved based on the determined orientations. The present method is applicable to areas of data embedding, document security, and the like.

摘要: An energy-absorbing system for vehicle door assemblies is provided, including first and second brackets and a reaction plate. Each bracket attaches to an inner support panel of the door assembly via a mounting portion having leg members extending inward from opposing ends thereof. The reaction plate includes a generally planar portion with a flange portion extending from an upper edge thereof. One side of the reaction plate is attached to an inner surface of a trim panel, whereas the other side is attached to the leg members of the first and second brackets. One section of the flange portion abuts against an underside surface of an armrest assembly, and another section abuts against a b-side surface of a pull-handle. Both brackets are configured to sustain a minimum vertical loading condition (limit vertical deflection), and controllably deform under a threshold lateral loading condition to absorb and attenuate kinetic energy resulting therefrom.

摘要: A support bracket for an armrest assembly having a pull-handle or pull-cup is provided for use in a motorized vehicle. The support bracket includes a generally horizontal support member configured to extend, at least in part, adjacent to or through an internal cavity of the pull-handle/pull-cup. The support bracket also includes at least two, but preferably three leg members spaced apart from one another and operatively attached at respective first ends to the support member. Each leg member extends downward from the support member in an oblique manner to attach at a respective second end to an inner support panel. The leg members are configured to sustain a predetermined minimum vertical loading condition, and controllably deform under a predetermined threshold lateral loading condition. The leg members create a load path for transferring vertical loads imparted to the armrest assembly to the vehicle interior surface as a substantially vertical force.

摘要: The system for selecting a best device for rendering a color document involves first determining the types of color data included in the color document to be printed. Once the type of color data has been determined, the color characteristics are matched against the strengths of the available output devices to obtain a list of devices best suited for this particular color print job. At least one device from the list of best devices is selected and the color document is rendered onto the selected device. Preferably, the types of color data involved are determined by the mix of defined colorimetry and undefined colorimetry in the color document. Alternatively, the types of color data are determined by analyzing the colorspaces in the document (i.e., RGB, CMYK, LAB, XYZ, etc.), and the embedded profiles, if any, in the document (e.g., sRGB, SWOPCMYK, Euroscale). In the instance wherein a number of devices match the criteria for selection, only those devices which honor embedded color profiles are selected for documents containing embedded profiles. Alternatively, only those devices are selected that produce a consistent rendering across multiple color spaces and profiles for documents with a mix of color spaces and profiles. Selecting the best device may also depend on whether the type of print job is considered to be Job-Balancing or Job-Splitting. With Job-Balancing, at least one of the metrics is used: (i) Intersection Gamut Volume, (ii) Gamut Similarity, or (iii) Mismatch Between Document Colors and Intersection Gamut for device selection. With Job-Splitting, at least one of these metrics are used: (i) Individual Gamut Volume, or (ii) Mismatch Between Document Colors and Device Gamut. Colorimetric definition of the selected colors can be retrieved from either an embedded source profile or by default and mapping the colors to the output gamut.
