Abstract: A reagent management system is disclosed comprising a reagent container section for receiving reagent containers and a reagent reconstitution device for reconstituting dry, or lyophilized, reagents or concentrated reagents in reagent containers in order to carry out in-vitro diagnostic tests with the reconstituted reagents. A controller is programmed to instruct the reagent reconstitution device to automatically reconstitute an initial volume of a selected reagent type in reagent containers. The initial volume is calculated based on an open container stability time (OCS) of the reconstituted reagent type for each reagent container and on a number of tests to be carried out within the OCS of the reconstituted reagent type. A reagent container for use by the reagent management system and methods of automatically reconstituting a dry, or lyophilized reagent, or a concentrated liquid reagent in a reagent container to carry out an in-vitro diagnostic test with the reagent are disclosed.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for supplementing measurement results of automated analyzers is presented. The method includes obtaining, at a computer device, a result of a measurement performed by an automated analyzer, the computer device and the automated analyzer being located within a privileged computer network, obtaining a context related algorithm associated with the result of the measurement defining one or more triggering conditions and context related information from a computer device residing outside of the privileged computer network at the computer device and processing the result of the measurement by using the context related algorithm to generate a context specific supplement to the result of the measurement at the computer device.

Abstract: A method for monitoring the performance of an analyzer for biological samples having an automated preparation device is presented. The method comprises receiving an instruction that a monitoring procedure shall be executed, after receipt of the instruction that a monitoring procedure shall be executed, obtaining, by the automated preparation device, at least two quality control ingredients from a repository including a plurality of quality control ingredients, and mixing, by the automated preparation device, the at least two quality control ingredients in a sample preparation receptacle to obtain a quality control which mimics the properties of a biological sample to be analyzed by the analyzer. The method further comprises determining at least one parameter of the quality control and determining a status of the analyzer based on the determined parameter of the quality control.
