Abstract:
A composite plate contains a core layer with a honeycomb structure between two cover layers, the first cover layer of which carries a decorative panel and the second cover layer of which carries a rear protective plate. The adhesive bonds of the composite plate consist of a layer of a relatively nonflammable adhesive. The protective element, made of a silicate base (but without asbestos) or a non-combustible mineral substance base, is adhesively bonded to the rear side of the composite plate.

Abstract:
A control method and a switching circuit for braking an electronically commutated electrical motor, wherein operation is in a phase period (T) of an inverter relative to at lest one winding, sequentially, both in a motoring mode and a generating operating mode using various cycles (t1-t2, t3-t4) beginning with zero, such that the driving and braking torques associated with the cycles (t1-t2, t3-t4) produce a resultant braking moment averaged over the phase period (T).
Abstract:
An improved method for the orientation of autonomous mobile units is provided. Collision distances to obstacles are thereby calculated on the basis of the steering and drive geometry of the movable unit. On the basis of these distances, allowed steering angle ranges for the unit are defined. Additionally, a defined observation horizon is prescribed for the sensor equipment of the unit. The obstacles to be evaluated are within this horizon. Moreover, a safety zone is defined around the unit in which no obstacles can be located; otherwise, travel in reverse is triggered. For route optimization of the unit, steering angle ranges that derive from different observation horizons and safety zones are combined on a case-by-case basis. By reducing the safety margin only in narrow passages down to the housing contour of the unit in the extreme case, the maximum steering angle can be utilized. As a result thereof, a greatest possible degree of maneuverability is also assured between obstacles residing close to one another.
Abstract:
An improved method and apparatus for constructing a cellularly structured environment map of a self-propelled, mobile unit is provided. Examples of such self-propelled, mobile units are household robots, self-propelled vacuum cleaners and industrial transport vehicles. To this end, a higher increment for the occupancy degree of a currently evaluated cell is selected for near objects. Further, the occupancy degree is also incremented dependent on a velocity. As an additional measure given standstill of the unit, all cells of the environment map that are located within the aperture cone of a wavefront that emanates from the sensor of the mobile unit are modified in terms of their occupancy degree values. Additionally, a blind zone in which grid cells of the environment map experience no modification of the occupancy degree is defined around the mobile unit.

Abstract:
There is proposed a hairstyling appliance which has a hair curler cylinder and a hot-air nozzle. The hair curler cylinder is provided with slits; its interior communicates with an air-aspirating device. The hot-air nozzle is directed toward the surface of the hair curler cylinder. Hot air generated by a dryer also provided in the appliance flows from this hot-air nozzle. Upon rotation, the hair curler cylinder takes up the hair and winds it up as a result of the underpressure prevailing at its slits. The hair is then held in the wound-up position, while it is subjected to the flow from the hot-air nozzle. The air, after absorbing water vapor upon passing through the hair, is simultaneously aspirated away from the interior of the hair curler cylinder. The hot-air nozzle is disposed on the appliance at a predetermined, fixed distance from the hair curler cylinder.
