Abstract: A magnetic powder includes an insulating layer formed of a polymer material which is directly coated on a powder particle core having magnetic properties. An inductor containing the same is also provided. The magnetic powder does not include a separate inorganic insulating layer between the powder particle core and the insulating layer, the insulating layer has a relatively uniform thickness, and a body formed using the magnetic powder does not contain a separate binder or curing agent, such that a high permeability and an excellent Q factor may be implemented.

Abstract: A multilayer electronic component includes a body and a coil. The body includes a plurality of sheets each containing magnetic powder particles. A multilayer chip antenna can include the multilayer electronic component.

Abstract: A wire wound inductor includes a winding coil, a magnetic core disposed in a central portion of the winding coil, and a body part filling a space around the winding coil and the magnetic core. The magnetic core has different characteristics from those of the body part, for example a higher permeability and higher magnetic flux density. In a method of manufacturing a wire wound inductor, a magnetic core is inserted in a central portion of a winding coil, wherein the magnetic core has different characteristics from those of a magnetic metal powder that is filled on the winding coil and the magnetic core. In one example, the filled magnetic metal powder is compressed at a pressure lower than a high pressure applied in the formation of the magnetic core.
