    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an information processing apparatus and a method that allows for suppression of a decrease in encoding efficiency. In comparison of voxel data resulting from quantization of point cloud data, a correlation degree of a distribution pattern between voxel data to be compared is calculated on the basis of a subjective feature of the distribution pattern of values of the voxel data. The present disclosure is applicable to an information processing apparatus, an image processing apparatus, an electronic device, an information processing method, a program, or the like, for example.

    Abstract: There is provided an encoding apparatus and an encoding method that make it possible to generate an encoded stream from which an image of a low load and high picture quality can be decoded. An arithmetic operation section or the like divides an image into a plurality of AUs and encodes the AUs to generate encoded streams of the plurality of AUs. A setting section sets 0 as pic_output_flag indicating that a decoded image obtained by decoding an encoded stream of an AU other than the last division AU from among the encoded streams of the plurality of AUs generated by the arithmetic operation section or the like is not to be displayed.     Abstract: A video processing apparatus includes a combining unit that combines encoded streams of a plurality of videos to generate an encoded stream of a multiple-video image composed of the videos, each encoded stream of each video having coding units in each horizontal line that are encoded as a slice, and an insertion unit that inserts an insertion stream into the encoded stream of the multiple-video image generated by the combining unit when a view area of the multiple-video image is moved. The insertion stream is an encoded stream in which all the coding units in the multiple-video image are replaced with skip macroblocks with a motion vector indicating a direction and an amount of movement of the view area.

    Abstract: There is provided an image processing apparatus and an image processing method that are capable of suppressing an increase in loads when a point cloud is generated from a mesh. Point cloud data is generated by positioning points at intersection points between a surface of a mesh and vectors each including, as a start origin, position coordinates corresponding to a specified resolution. For example, intersection determination is performed between the surface of the mesh and each of the vectors, and in a case where the surface and the vector are determined to intersect each other, the coordinates of the intersection point are calculated.
