Abstract: The present invention relates to a laminate having oxygen barrier properties, which laminate comprises; a porous fiber based layer comprising nanocellulose and cellulosic fibers wherein said fiber based layer has an air resistance of less than 4000 s/100 ml measured according to ISO5636/6 and a polymer layer attached to at least one side of said fiber based layer to form said laminate. The present invention further relates to a method to produce said laminate and a paper or paperboard product comprising the laminate and the use of the laminate.

Abstract: The present invention relates a method for the production of an adhesive wherein said method comprise the following steps: providing a suspension comprising starch, swelling the starch by alkali or temperature treatment or by cooking the starch suspension to form a starch suspension, providing a suspension comprising microfibrillated cellulose which suspension has a solid content above 10%-by weight, adding the suspension comprising microfibrillated cellulose to the suspension comprising starch either before or during the swelling or the cooking of the starch or to the formed starch suspension to produce the adhesive. The invention further relates to a corrugated board and an adhesive.

Abstract: A method of producing a microfibrillated cellulose (MFC) film comprising reinforcement fibers. The method includes: providing a suspension comprising a first MFC in an amount of at least 50 weight %, reinforcement fibers in an amount of at least 5 weight %, all percentages calculated on the total solid content of said suspension, and a formation aid; mixing said suspension to form a mixture; forming a fibrous web from the mixture; and dewatering and/or drying said fibrous web to form a film having a basis weight of less than 40 g/m2, a specific formation number of below 0.45 g0.5/m2, and an Oxygen Transmission Rate (OTR) value of below 100 ml/m2/per 24 hours, preferably of below 50 ml/m2per 24 hours at 50% relative humidity. Also, a film and use of the film in food or liquid packaging applications.

Abstract: The invention discloses a method to enable the efficient use of surfactants in web forming of a cellulose containing material, e.g. in the making of paper or paperboard. The method comprises the addition of microfibrillated cellulose (MFC) or nanocrystalline cellulose (NCC) to the white water in a web-forming process in order to form complexes with surface active agents. The formed complexes are at least partly recycled to the process. This enables the producer to have control over the concentration of surface active agents in the system.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a film, wherein said film has a basis weight of less than 50 g/m2 and wherein the density of the film is higher than 750 kg/m2 comprising the steps of: providing a suspension comprising microfibrillated cellulose (MFC); forming a web of said suspension on a porous wire, microfibrillated cellulose (MFC); surface sizing said web, wherein the web, at the beginning of the surface sizing step, has a moisture content in the range of from 10 to 50 wt-%; drying said surface sized web to a final moisture content of between 0.1-20 wt-% to form said film.
