Abstract:
A method for selecting a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) in a wireless communication system by a User Equipment (UE), the method includes detecting, by the UE, that the UE is operating in an interworking mode, triggering, by the UE, a manual scan in the interworking mode for acquiring a list of PLMNs in the wireless communication system, and causing, by the UE, a display to output the list of PLMNs in response to the triggering.
Abstract:
Some example embodiments disclose methods for selecting registered public land mobile network (RPLMN) radio access technology (RAT) modes in wireless communication devices. The method as disclosed herein includes determining location information of the wireless communication device; validating the location information; deriving a RPLMN from the validated location information when the validating is successful; storing a RPLMN access technology (AccTech) based on the derived RPLMN; and selecting a RAT mode using the stored RPLMN AccTech.
Abstract:
A method of managing evolved universal mobile telecommunication system terrestrial radio access network (E-UTRAN) capability of a user equipment (UE) is provided that includes switching from a first radio access technology (RAT) to a second RAT if the first RAT fails to provide circuit switched (CS) services to the UE, the first RAT and the second RAT being associated with a first public landline mobile network (PLMN). The UE establishes a CS call session with the second RAT. In the meanwhile, the UE receives a network handover command to move to a second PLMN. The UE may also perform a movement from the first PLMN to the second PLMN and connect with a third RAT associated with the second PLMN to continue the CS call session. The UE enables the E-UTRAN capability after moving to the second PLMN to connect with a fourth RAT available in the second PLMN.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a system, User Equipment (UE) and method for preventing voice call (VoLTE) call drops in a communication network. A paging message is received as an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) invite message. The paging message includes a domain, or the UE establishes a connection with the network, in order to determine whether the IMS invite is for a voice call. A condition of non-sustenance of the voice call is detected based on a power level check for the UE and Extended Service Request (ESR) is triggered. The voice call is continued according to a success or a failure of the ESR.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus are provided for processing a Circuit-Switched (CS) call by User Equipment (UE) that is camped on a CSG cell, when a manually selected CSG cell is in a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN), which is different from a Registered PLMN (RPLMN). The method includes registering, by the UE, with a manually selected Closed Subscriber Group (CSG) cell of a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN), which is different from a Registered PLMN (RPLMN) of the UE; detecting the CS call; and processing the CS call in a non-CSG cell, when the manually selected CSG cell is unable to process the CS call.
Abstract:
A method of a user equipment (UE) for establishing a session with one or more Stand-alone Non-Public Networks (SNPNs) includes first sending a service request to a SNPN network entity while the UE is in an idle mode, monitoring a response to the service request based on a first timer and a counter, initiating a second timer in response to determining that the counter exceeds a threshold count, receiving an indication of a change in a current SNPN, or an update associated with a selected entry of the current SNPN, stopping the second timer, and second sending the service request to the SNPN network entity for connection with a new SNPN, or the current SNPN with the update, the second sending being performed in response to determining that the second timer has stopped, and the second sending being performed while the UE remains in the idle mode.
Abstract:
A method for performing a CHO includes receiving, via a network entity, a CHO reconfiguration associated with a plurality of target cells, identifying one or more target cells from among the plurality of target cells using the CHO reconfiguration, each of the one or more target cells having a higher signal strength than a serving cell associated with the UE, determining one or more handover trigger parameters associated with each of the one or more target cells using a network analysis-based Machine Learning model, the determining of the one or more handover trigger parameters being based on one or more network parameters, historical handover data, and one or more mobility parameters, selecting a first target cell from among the one or more target cells based on the one or more handover trigger parameters, and performing the CHO from the serving cell to the first target cell.
Abstract:
A method implemented in a User Equipment (UE) for service recovery in a wireless communication network includes establishing a first Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection with a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) via a first cell corresponding to a network, transmitting, to the network, a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) establishment request for a service from the first cell using the first RRC connection, receiving, from the network in response to the PDU establishment request, a PDU establishment failure message based on at least location information of the UE, performing a local deregistration with the first cell based on the PDU establishment failure message, and establishing a second RRC connection with the PLMN via a second cell corresponding to the network.
Abstract:
A method for managing 5G Mobility Management (5GMM) parameters of a Standalone Non Public Network (SNPN) at a User Equipment (UE), the method includes selecting an SNPN identifier (SNPN ID) from among SNPN IDs in a first list, determining whether the first list includes a valid Subscriber Permanent Identifier (SUPI) for the SNPN ID, the first list including SNPN parameter values associated with the SNPN IDs, identifying a first SUPI from a first Universal Subscriber Identifier Module (USIM) of the UE in response to determining that the first list does not include the valid SUPI, generating a first SNPN registration request based on the SNPN ID and the first SUPI to attempt registration with a first SNPN associated with the SNPN ID, and updating a second list with the SNPN ID, the first SUPI, and a SNPN parameter value corresponding to the first SNPN upon successful registration.
Abstract:
A method for connecting to a Registered Public Land Mobile Network (RPLMN) after receiving an accept message with limited service from a user selected CSG cell, which is associated to a different PLMN than the RPLMN during manual CSG selection mode is disclosed. The method includes connecting to the RPLMN based on the availability of the user selected CSG cell in UTRAN. If the user selected CSG cell is not available in UTRAN, then the method includes connecting to the RPLMN by the UE using the stored duplicate value of the RPLMN. If the user selected CSG cell is available in UTRAN, then the method includes sending an ATTACH request to the user selected CSG cell without disabling the EUTRA capabilities. If the ATTACH request is failed, then the method includes connecting to the RPLMN using the stored duplicate value of the RPLMN.
