The image display apparatus includes a reference angle detector configured to detect a reference angle formed by the pointing direction of the remote controller with respect to a reference direction set for a display; a remote control direction detector configured to detect a remote control direction which is a direction in which the remote controller is viewed, from a reference point set on the display; and a standard direction adjuster configured to adjust a standard direction set in the remote controller so that the standard direction reaches the reference point on the display as viewed from the remote controller, based on the reference angle and the remote control direction.
Abstract:
An input apparatus of a display apparatus, a display system, and a control method thereof, are provided herein, the input apparatus including: a communication unit which communicates with the display apparatus; a sensing unit which detects angular speed and acceleration from a motion of the input apparatus; a storage unit which stores position information on a position of the input apparatus; and a controller which calculates the motion information based on the detected angular speed and the position information and transmits the calculated motion information through the communication unit if the input apparatus moves, and updates the position information in the storage unit based on the detected acceleration if the input apparatus does not move.
Abstract:
An electronic apparatus, control method thereof, remote control apparatus that controls the electronic apparatus, and control method thereof. The remote control apparatus includes a communication unit which communicates with the electronic apparatus; a user input unit which receives a user button selection indicating an input button; a sensing unit which senses movement of the remote control apparatus; and a control unit which controls the communication unit to transmit information about the user button selection to perform a function corresponding to the input button if the remote control apparatus is in a button input mode, and to transmit information about the movement of the remote control apparatus to the electronic apparatus to control the electronic apparatus by the movement if the remote control apparatus is in a motion recognition mode. Accordingly, controlling a game or a multimedia content is easier, and the user is provided with a new and interesting experience.
Abstract:
Exemplary embodiments may disclose an input device, a display device, and methods of controlling thereof. More particularly, exemplary embodiments may disclose an input device, a display device, and methods of controlling thereof, which inputs a command using gestures. The input device may include: a sensor configured to sense a location and a movement of the input device in response to a gesture command being input; a controller configured to convert the sensed movement into a physical quantity, create a cursor movement command when a size of the physical quantity is less than a predetermined threshold value, and create a predetermined control command when the size of the physical quantity is more than the predetermined threshold value; and a communicator configured to transmit the created commands to a display device.

Abstract:
Provided is a light-emitting diode (LED) driving system. The LED driving system includes an LED current controller, a detector, and a system controller. The LED current controller is configured to control a current flowing through a plurality of LED arrays including at least one LED, such that no current flows through a first LED array from among the plurality of the LED arrays and a current flows through a second LED array from among the plurality of the LED arrays. The detector is configured to detect a sensing voltage from the first LED array. The system controller is configured to determine, based on a comparison result between the sensing voltage and a reference voltage, a failure of the at least one LED included in the second LED array.
Abstract:
An electronic apparatus is provided, which includes a display, a sensor including first and second light emitters which respectively emit first and second light, and a first light receiver which receives light reflected against an object positioned in front of the display, and a processor electrically connected with the display and the sensor and controlling the display based on a distance from the object calculated according to a time period that one of the first and second light is reflected against the object and returned, in which the processor drives the first light emitter and second light emitter such that the first light emitter and second light emitter emit at least a portion of the first and second light to different illumination regions.
Abstract:
A character correcting method of a display apparatus includes displaying a sentence including at least one word in a character input window; displaying, if one of the at least one word is selected, a first user interface (UI) in which the at least one selected word is displayed by a character unit; and, displaying, if one of a plurality of characters displayed in the first UI is selected, a second UI around the selected character, the second UI is configured to edit the selected character.
Abstract:
