Abstract:
A strongly scattering optoceramic converter material having a density of less than 97% is provided, as well as a method for producing such an optoceramic material. By appropriately choosing in particular the composition, blending method, and sintering conditions, the production method permits to produce converter materials with tailored properties.
Abstract:
A fiber-optic conversion module is provided as part of a lighting device on a vehicle. The module includes optical fibers with connectors, a light exit head, and a converter mounted on a cooling element. Shorter wavelength excitation light is fed to the optical fibers that emit the excitation light towards the converter arranged at an angle relative to the beam direction, at a light spot that remits useful light in a radiation angle in form of a cone of useful light and reflects excitation light as a Fresnel reflection substantially outside the cone of useful light, where Fresnel reflection is made harmless by a light stop.
Abstract:
A light source is provided that includes a laser operable to emit laser light at a wavelength in a range from 460 nanometers to 470 nanometers and a converter assembly arranged so as to absorb the laser light emitted by the laser and to emit photoluminescent light produced by the laser light and having a longer wavelength than the laser light. The converter assembly has a converter element with a ceramic doped with Eu3+ such that under irradiation of the laser light the converter assembly emits photoluminescent light in the red spectral range.
Abstract:
An imaging system includes at least one laser light source having a wavelength in the visible spectral range and a beam guidance element with high solarization resistance at high beam power densities. The invention also relates to the use of the imaging system, in particularly in projectors and in material processing.
Abstract:
An endoscope is provided that includes a first component, a second component, a light source, an image capturing element, and a light guide. The second component has a proximal end and a distal end with proximal end coupled to the first component. The light source is integrated in the first component and includes a laser and a converter. The laser emits primary light and the converter converts the primary light at least partially into secondary light that has a different wavelength. The image capturing element is arranged at the distal end. The light guide has an optical fiber that extends through the second component. The converter is coupled to the proximal end such that the primary and secondary light is injected into the optical fiber, is conducted from the proximal end to the distal end, and emitted at the distal end.
Abstract:
An optical converter wheel, a method of producing, and a method of using are provided. The wheel includes an inorganic converter material that converts light of a first wavelength into light of a second wavelength and a converter substrate. The converter substrate has a coefficient of thermal expansion CTEKS of 4 to 18×10−6 1/K in a range from 20° C.-300° C. and a thermal conductivity of at least 50 W/mK at 20° C.
Abstract:
A converter arrangement for light sources with high luminance is provided that includes an axially pivotable carrying wheel and a converter fixed on one side of the carrying wheel. The converter includes fluorescent materials that convert impinging light into light having a different wave length and emits the light having the different wavelength. The ratio of the total area of the converter arrangement to the area enclosed by the outer boundary curve of the converter is at least 3, preferably at least 3.5, particularly preferably at least 4.5.

Abstract:
A layer composite is provided that includes optoceramic layers. Additionally, a method for the production of the layer composite, as well as uses thereof are also provided. The layer composite is suitable as a converter material such as a converter material for LEDs. With the use of the layer composite, white LEDs can be produced which also in the passive state, i.e. when the light source is switched off, result in a white color impression.
Abstract:
An illumination device includes a light source, a light conversion element with a front side, an optical element, and first and second optical interfaces, wherein (a) an outer surface of the optical element includes a first surface area extending obliquely to the front side, so that secondary light can be decoupled at the second optical interface from the optical element into the surrounding medium in a direction which has a smaller angle in relation to the normal of the front side than if the first surface area extended in parallel to the front side of the light conversion element, and/or (b) the outer surface includes a second surface area extending obliquely to the front side of the light conversion element, so that secondary light can be reflected at the second optical interface into the optical element with total reflection in a direction toward the normal of the front side.
