Abstract: A chip-mounted board including: micro light-emitting chips arranged in a matrix pattern in a light-emitting region; and a conductive line electrically connected to the micro light-emitting chips, the light-emitting region including a first region having a first luminance, a second region having a second luminance lower than the first luminance, and a third region having a third luminance lower than the first luminance and higher than the second luminance, the luminances being values determined with the same magnitude of current supplied to the micro light-emitting chips, the third region being positioned between the first region and the second region and satisfying the following formulas (1) and (2): (1+k)/(1−k)≤63.895×tan(0.5°)×500/W+6.0525 (1) L2=k×L1 (2) wherein L1 represents the first luminance, L2 represents the second luminance, and W represents a width (unit: mm) of the third region.

Abstract: An illumination device according to the present invention includes: a light source row in which a plurality of light sources are aligned in a row; a light guide plate that includes a plate-shaped main body with an end thereof facing the light source row, a light-receiving portion that is arranged on the end of the main body and into which light from the light sources enters, plate-shaped side extensions that are arranged on the sides of the main body and that extend outwards further than the light-receiving portion, and a light-exiting portion that is arranged on front surfaces of the main body and the side extensions and that allows light that enters via the light-receiving portion to exit; and a supply unit that supplies light to the side extensions.

Abstract: A backlight unite 12 includes LEDs 17, an optical member 16, a positioning portion 23, and a rotation restricting portion 24. The optical member 16 includes at least a curved end surface 16C having a curved shape in a plan view included in a periphery of the optical member 16. The positioning portion 26 includes a positioning hole 25 that opens through a thickness direction of the optical member 16 and a positioning protrusion 26 that is inserted in the positioning hole 25 and is in contact with an inner wall of the positioning hole 25. The rotation restricting portion 24 includes an optical member recess 27 that is a portion of the periphery of the optical member 16 recessed along a circumferential direction and a contact portion 28 that is in contact with the optical member recess 27.

Abstract: Provided are an illumination device capable of improving the uniformity in brightness of the illumination light, and a display device using the same. Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal panel, a liquid crystal panel flexible circuit board, and a backlight unit. The backlight unit includes LEDs, a light guide plate, a chassis, and an LED board. The light guide plate has an outer shape conforming to an outer shape of the liquid crystal panel. The chassis including a sidewall portion which surrounds the light guide plate and the LEDs. The LED board has an outer shape conforming to the outer shape of the light guide plate. The LEDs are mounted on the LED board at intervals in the circumferential direction. The LED board includes LED mount portions, and LED interval portions. The LED interval portions include a cut-out LED interval portion. Between the cut-out LED interval portion and the sidewall portion, a liquid crystal panel flexible circuit board passing space is provided.

Abstract: Provided is a technique for controlling the hue of an image when the image is displayed on a display panel so that the image should not be displayed with a hue different from the actual hue. The display device includes a display panel that includes an active matrix substrate 11a and a counter substrate 11b, and a reflection unit 12. The active matrix substrate 11a includes gate lines and source lines 24, and includes a plurality of pixel areas that are defined by the gate lines and the source lines 24. The counter substrate 11b includes color filters 31R, 31G, 31B of R, G, B at positions corresponding to the pixel areas. The reflection unit 12 transmits light from the light source 14, and reflects light from the active matrix substrate 11a. The pixel areas of R, G, B have reflection areas that reflect light from the reflection unit 12 so that the respective amounts of light outgoing from the above-described pixel areas are approximately uniform.

Abstract: A backlight unit includes LEDs, a light guide plate, a prism sheet, exiting light reflecting portions, prisms, concave lenticular lenses, and flat portions. The concave lenticular lenses are configured such that an occupancy rate of concave cylindrical lenses with respect to the second direction is higher in an area closer to a light entering surface with respect to the first direction and the occupancy rate is lower in an area farther from the light entering surface. The flat portions are formed adjacent to the concave cylindrical lenses with respect to the second direction such that an occupancy rate of flat portions with respect to the second direction is lower in an area closer to a light entering surface with respect to the first direction and the occupancy rate of the flat portions with respect to the second direction is higher in an area farther from the light entering surface.
