摘要: In knitting parts (a guide, needle, tongue, sinker, separator, jacquard guide needle and the like) of a knitting machine, a covering of a hard carbon film 15 of a preset film thickness d on a surface of a portion of a parts base material 10 frequently contacting with knitting yarn and, at the same time, a film thickness changing area 16 where the film thickness of the hard carbon film decreases gradually is formed from an area where the covering of the hard carbon film 15 of the preset film thickness d is formed to an area where such a covering is not formed. A ratio (L/d) between length L of the film thickness changing area 16 toward a film changing direction and the preset film thickness d of the hard carbon film 15 is controlled to be at least 5:1.

摘要: In knitting parts of a knitting machine(a guide, needle tongue and the like of a warp knitting machine), an anti-corrosion layer 12 formed by wet plating, an intermediate layer 14 formed by dry plating and a hard carbon film 16 formed by dry plating are successively laminated on and applied to, at least, a surface of that portion of a carbon steel base material 10 shaped to profile the knitting parts, which portion contacts with knitting yarn, and the anti-corrosion layer 12 formed by wet plating is applied to a surface other than the portion. So, the anti-corrosion layer prevents rust and corrosion which would otherwise be developed on a surface of the carbon steel base material 10, and the hard carbon film is firmly and adhesively applied, at least, to the surface of the portion contacting with the knitting yarn with the intermediate layer therebetwen, so that the thickness of the entire film is made small to provide an adequate wear resistance without impairing toughness of the base material, thereby markedly improving the durability.

摘要: A solid state complementary electrochromic display device in which a first electrochromic material layer which permits an oxidation-reduction reaction and is colored in a reduction state, an ion permeable insulating layer, a second electrochromic material layer which permits an oxidation-reduction reaction and is colored in an oxidation state are prepared between two electrodes and the first electrochromic material layer and the second electrochromic material layer are colored or bleached simultaneously. The ion permeable insulating layer comprises a halogenide. As a result, high coloration concentration can be obtained at a low potential.

摘要: In the lead electrodes which connect to the display electrodes of a liquid crystal display device having lead electrodes which are of extremely narrow width and are spaced very closely together, the resistance of each lead electrode is reduced by means of a multi-layer structure of relatively low resistance, and leakage current is prevented from flowing between adjacent lead electrodes by providing a transparent insulating layer over and between the lead electrodes, thereby eliminating the deleterious effects upon display appearance of a high lead electrode resistance and leakage currents between lead electrodes.

摘要: Disposing the titanium or titanium alloy in a vacuum vessel, and applying annealing treatment thereto by heating (a heating process); feeding a mixed gas consisting primarily of nitrogen with a trace of oxygen component into the vessel, and heating inside the vacuum vessel at temperatures in the range of 700 to 800° C. in a predetermined reduced pressure condition for a predetermined length of time such that nitrogen and oxygen are diffused into the interior of the titanium or titanium alloy from the surface thereof so as to pass into solid solution therein (a hardening treatment process); and cooling the titanium or titanium alloy to room temperature after the hardening treatment process (a cooling process), are carried out. After completion of the processes described above, a hard surface layer 101 is formed in the surface region of the titanium or titanium alloy 100. The hard surface layer 101 comprises a first hard layer 102 where nitrogen atoms 104 and oxygen atoms 105 reside in solid solution, and a second hard layer 103 where oxygen atoms 105 reside in solid solution.

摘要: A screening layer is disposed on the front side of a solar battery to diffuse reflected light from the solar battery so as to reduce the quantity of light traveling outward from the front side of the solar battery. The screening layer prevents the reflected light from traveling outward so that the solar battery disposed on the back side thereof is concealed from view. An optical member is disposed on the front side of the screening layer to transmit light of wavelengths in a predetermined wavelength range included in the light incident the front surface thereof at a predetermined transmittance, and a diffusing layer is disposed on the front side of the optical member to diffuse reflected light from the optical member in nondirectional, soft light rays.

摘要: EC display device suitable for drive by means of a charge transfer method which is one of the methods for realizing a constant charge drive, in which all the members comprise solid materials only and a reduction coloration type EC material and an oxidation coloration type EC material are combined. The device has means for applying a voltage between each of the EC segments, with the counter electrode shut off, and a fixed quantity of electric charge is transferred from one EC segment to another. The counter EC layer provided on the counter electrode functions as a donnor or an acceptor of protons so as to activate the EC reactions and this counter layer is colored or bleached by itself, producing double contrast of the display.

摘要: In a liquid type display cell wherein a liquid crystal or an electrochromic substance is poured into the space between a pair of substrates through a pouring port of a spacer ring, the pouring port is sealed by an inorganic substance such as solder. Where the cell is provided with display electrodes and electrochromic layers on the electrodes, the display electrodes and the electrochromic layers are etched in one step to have the same pattern.
