Abstract:
The present invention concerns devices and methods for control of data transfer in a personal area network. The data transfer being performed by body coupled communication (BCC) and short-range wireless communication between a first portable electronic communication device (10) and a second portable electronic communication device (20, 30). The devices being adapted to be in close proximity to a body of a user and the first portable electronic communication device (10) is configured to initiate and perform execution of predefined actions by means of the method to cooperate with the second portable electronic communication device (20, 30) in a system/personal area network.
Abstract:
A wireless device, such as a mobile device, for example, pairs with a peripheral device, such as a wristlet, for example, worn by the user. One or both of the wireless device and the peripheral device, each of which contact the user's skin, determine whether the other is in contact with the body of the same user. If both devices are in contact with the same body, the devices will pair with each other.
Abstract:
A method and system for capturing media data using an Body Area Network, BAN, wherein the BAN comprises a BAN enabled media capturing device associated with a first user and at least one BAN enabled communication device associated with a second user, wherein a BAN link is established through the body of the second user between the capturing device and the communication device, when the second user touches the capturing device, settings, related to capturing media data and related to said second user, are downloaded to the capturing device by using the established BAN link and media data is captured with the capturing device by using the downloaded settings wherein the capturing is triggered by the second user.
Abstract:
A system including a wireless communication device and a peripheral device communicate with each other using radio frequency (RF) waves that are propagated using a user's own body as a transmission medium. The wireless communication device selectively controls the transmit output power of the peripheral device to cause the peripheral device to transmit data and information in a low-power transmission mode. This minimizes the amount of RF waves that are received at the wireless communication device as reflected RF waves, but helps to ensure that the RF waves that do reach the wireless communication device are transmitted as surface waves along the user's skin. Responsive to the receipt of the surface waves, and based on a validity of the information carried by those surface waves, the wireless communication device transitions from a locked state to an unlocked state.

Abstract:
Devices and methods for controlling the functionality of a pair of earbuds. The first earbud establishes a connection between the first earbud and an electronic device, searches for the second earbud of the pair of earbuds using Body Coupled Communication, BCC, and sends a signal from the first earbud to the electronic device including information defining whether the first earbud detected the second earbud during the search. The electronic device receives a signal from the at least one of the earbuds, the signal comprising information defining whether the earbud has detected the other earbud of the pair of earbuds using Body Coupled Communication, BCC, and sends a signal to the at least one earbud wherein the signal is controlled based on the received signal and includes information associated with controlling the functionality of the pair of earbuds.
Abstract:
A system with a wireless communication device and one or more wearable communication devices utilizing Body coupled communication, BCC, technology for managing digital keys to a lock. The key management system comprises a wireless communication device and at least one wearable communication device, for managing digital keys, wherein the wireless communication device and the wearable communication device are Body Coupled Communication, BCC, enabled. The method comprises receiving, in the wireless communication device, one or more digital keys to a lock from an external server, detecting, in the wireless communication device, one or more wearable communication devices using BCC, sending, using BCC, the one or more digital keys from the wireless communication device to the detected one or more wearable communication devices and receiving, using BCC, the one or more digital keys from the wireless communication device in the one or more wearable communication devices, thereby enabling the wearable communication device to open the lock.

Abstract:
A method, device and system for collecting writing pattern using Body Area Network, BAN, wherein the BAN comprises at least one BAN enabled writing device, e.g. a pen and at least one wearable BAN enabled communication device, e.g. a wristlet, worn by a user, wherein a BAN link is established through the body of the user between the writing device and the communication device, when the user touches the writing device, the writing pattern is created and collected by using the writing device and streamed from the writing device to the wearable device by using the established BAN link.
Abstract:
According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a method is performed by a protective cover for a wireless terminal. The protective cover includes a transceiver circuit, a processor circuit, an electronic ink display element, and an inductive power supply circuit. The inductive power supply circuit inductively charges from a wireless terminal contained in the protective cover, and supplies power to the transceiver circuit, the processor circuit, and the electronic ink display element. The transceiver circuit wirelessly receives data from the wireless terminal. The processor circuit updates the electronic ink display element based on the received data. The receiving and the updating are performed using the power from the inductive power supply circuit.
