Abstract: A printable recording media containing a base substrate and a coating layer having a total solid content ranging from about 3 to about 65 weight percent by total weight of the coating composition and that includes from about 10 to about 90 weight percent of starch nanoparticles having a particle size ranging from about 40 to about 500 nm and from about 10 to about 90 weight percent of a water soluble divalent or multi-valent metal salt. Also described herein are a method for making the printable recording media and a method for producing printed images using the recording media.

Abstract: Described are examples of back-up power apparatuses and systems including such back-up power apparatuses. An example may include a battery module, and a back-up power control module to determine a back-up power demand of a host device and selectively enable an output of power from the battery module to the host device if the battery module has a power capacity greater than the back-up power demand.

Abstract: Operation of a carriage is controlled to actuate a mechanism. The carriage is controlled according to a feed forward term and a feedback term, to compensate interaction of the carriage with the mechanism. Thus, the carriage is to engage the mechanism at a reduced velocity for quiet operation, and fully and reliably actuate the mechanism without stalling the carriage.

Abstract: A nonlinear memristor includes a bottom electrode, a top electrode, and an insulator layer between the bottom electrode and the top electrode. The insulator layer comprises a metal oxide. The nonlinear memristor further includes a switching channel within the insulator layer, extending from the bottom electrode toward the top electrode, and a nano-cap layer of a metal-insulator-transition material between the switching channel and the top electrode. The top electrode comprises the same metal as the metal in the metal-insulator-transition material.

Abstract: Examples provide inkjet printing fluid compositions and apparatuses including such compositions. An inkjet printing fluid composition may comprise a vehicle including at least 50% weight percent water based on the inkjet printing fluid composition as a whole and substantially only one surfactant, the surfactant including alkoxylated alcohol present in the inkjet printing fluid composition from about 0.1 weight percent to about 1.0 weight percent alkoxylated alcohol.
