    摘要: A chassis and rack system is disclosed in which a chassis separated into two separate enclosures by a central partition. Each of the enclosures is sized to receive a computer system. The partition includes a pair of vertically oriented vents, with each of the vents in fluid communication with one of the enclosures and the computer system contained therein. Heated air is removed from each computer system through the vent in the partition that is associated with the computer system. Multiple chassis may be placed one atop another in a vertical configuration in which each chassis is either directly above or directly below another chassis. In this vertical configuration, the vents form a vertically oriented common plenum that can be used to evacuate air from multiple chassis arranged in a rack.

    摘要: A lighted heat dissipating panel made of sustainable renewable materials such as recycled aluminum and soy-based urethane, for use in architectural or shelving applications. The panel may be flat, rectangular, curvilinear, or of varying cross section so as to include any three-dimensional shape as desired. Lightweight materials such as carbon fiber, fiberglass, resin, soy-based urethane, and similar materials are used in combination with thermally conductive structural materials, such as expanded aluminum honeycomb, preferably fabricated from recycled aluminum, to provide a stiff, lightweight, machinable, moldable, and thermally conductive panel for use with lighting elements. Lighting elements are housed within the panel, providing illumination as desired. Heat is transferred from the lighting elements through the panel to the supporting structure and radiated from the panel itself, providing cooling effect for the lighting elements, reducing the temperature in the immediate vicinity of the lighting elements and providing for longer lighting element life.

    摘要: A computer module for use in combination with a desk wherein the computer is concealed within the desk to provide free work space and improved aesthetics. The computer module is shallow in vertical depth near the front of the desk to maximize leg and storage room beneath the front of the desk and to minimize visual impact. The computer module includes a deeper section near the rear of the desk to allow for the use of standardized computer components and connectors including a standard mother board and standard vertical expansion circuit boards. Furthermore the computer is designed to have a front to back dimension approximately equal to the front to back dimension of the desk. In this way, the user interface elements of the computer are flush with the front of the desk and the external connectors are flush with the back of the desk. Connectors through the side of the computer module for the keyboard, video display and mouse provide allow those components to also be modularly inegrated into the desk with their cables concealed within the desk cavity. In effect, the computer module makes the desk the computer.
