Abstract:
A filtration system interconnection structure having a filter manifold including a sump housing and a first correlated magnet located on or connected to a portion of the manifold, and a filter cartridge including a filter media, first and second end caps sealed to the filter media, and a second, paired correlated magnet located on or connected to the filter cartridge housing body. The first and second correlated magnets are interconnected via magnetic communication upon insertion of the filter cartridge into the sump housing, and upon movement of the filter cartridge into an alignment position, the correlated magnet located on or connected to the manifold is permitted to translate as a result of the magnetic communication. The polarity profiles of the paired correlated magnets are aligned such that a repulsion force is created when the filter cartridge is inserted within the manifold sump housing.
Abstract:
A screen device includes a foam body having a passageway that extends longitudinally through the foam body, the foam body has an open cell structure such that at least two surfaces of the foam body are in fluidic communication with one another through the foam body.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an apparatus and method for filtering fluids with a compressible filter media within at least a portion of a housing inwardly compressible.
Abstract:
A fluid filter is provided with a case body defining therein a holder and having pressing portions formed on the internal wall surface of the case body. The pressing portions can compress a filter medium housed in the holder. The pressing portions are pressed against the filter medium housed in the holder to compress it and form a compressed region at a desired position of the filter medium, where the rate of capturing extraneous substances is increased. Thus, even if various sizes of the extraneous substances are contained in a fluid introduced through the inlet into the holder, the filter medium can capture the extraneous substances in its entirety. The degree of compression of the compressed region in the filter medium changes depending on the height of each pressing portion.

Abstract:
A separator includes a separation arrangement having a roller; and a belt disposed about the roller. Feed material introduced to the separator such as tar sand, is separated into sand and oil so that discharge from the separator will be substantially separate material streams of sand and oil. A method and system are included.
Abstract:
A multi-faceted intake filter for an aquarium includes a top surface portion, a bottom surface portion and a plurality of side surface portions that collectively define a filter body is formed from a compressible foam. The intake filter also includes a bore that extends along a longitudinal axis of the filter body. The bore includes a first end exposed at the top surface portion that leads to a second end which terminates prior to the bottom surface portion. The bore is designed to receive an intake portion of an aquarium filter tube. Preferably, the bore is off-set from a central axis of the filter body. The off-set bore allows the intake filter to be placed in a wide range of aquarium configurations, with at least one of the side surface portions abutting a wall of the aquarium.
Abstract:
A filter media backwash removal method and device for transporting backwash fluid and solids away from re-entering a housing containing circulating filter media.
