    摘要: In one example, we describe a method and system that uses iron oxide as its sole sorbent, specifically micron-sized nano-porous iron oxide particles. The sorbent is housed inside a horizontally rotating sorbent bed. The horizontally rotating sorbent bed is housed inside of a larger secondary compartment. At the top of the secondary compartment, there is an escaped sorbent particle containment membrane. One example uses a self-cleaning horizontally rotating sorbent drum membrane design that unclogs particulates lodged in the membrane by reversing particulate air flow direction during a small portion (e.g., about 20 degrees) of each full 360 degree rotation of the drum. When air flow passes through the porous horizontally rotating sorbent drum's membrane, which occurs at the location where the rotating sorbent bed membrane comes into contact with the air feed manifold, particulates are air-dislodged from the inner facing surface of the drum's membrane. Other variations are discussed.

    摘要: A method and associated apparatus are described for addressing blow-back when a hydrogen generator is attached to a combustion engine to enhance performance. The method involves positioning a filter with a porous flame tolerant core upstream of the combustion engine on a supply line leading from the hydrogen generator to the combustion engine. The method also involves surrounding the porous flame tolerant core with a hydrophilic filter medium. The hydrophilic filter medium serves as a trap for water vapour passing through the filter in a first direction and the hydrophilic filter medium moistened by water vapour assists in retarding flames passing through the filter in a second direction.

    摘要: Filters, methods, and an apparatus for filling housings and both encapsulated porous and non-porous spaces with contaminant control media for placement in electronic enclosures, such as disk drive enclosures, are disclosed. In one embodiment, a filter assembly includes a housing comprising an internal cavity configured to receive contaminant control media, a fill port in communication with the internal cavity, and an opening in communication with the internal cavity, and filter media at least partially covering the opening; and contaminant control media occupying the internal cavity. Contaminant control media is deposited within the internal cavity via the fill port by means of creating a negative pressure within the internal cavity. The application of a partial vacuum facilitates movement of the contaminant control media into the internal cavity and minimizes the contamination of the filter, housing, and work space common to other loose fill filling methods. Other aspects and embodiments are provided herein.
