摘要: A mixing bucket has a cylindrical sidewall with longitudinally separated lower and upper bucket rims defining a bucket interior volume. A laterally oriented bucket bottom spans the sidewall and separates the bucket interior volume into upper and lower bucket volumes. At least one aperture is located in the sidewall and provides substantially laterally oriented access between an ambient environment and the lower bucket volume. At least one laterally oriented channel extends from at least one aperture and is located within the lower bucket volume. An elongate anchoring structure has first and second anchor ends laterally separated by an anchor body. The anchoring structure engages the bucket by the anchor body being at least partially positioned within the channel. An anchoring force is exerted upon the anchoring structure while the anchoring structure is engaged with the bucket, and the anchoring force counteracts a mixing force being exerted upon the bucket.

摘要: A mixing apparatus has a tank for holding a material to be mixed, a drive shaft rotatable in the tank, a radially inner impeller on the drive shaft with blades pitched to produce axial flow of the material in a first direction, and a radially outer impeller with blades pitched to produce axial flow in an opposite direction. The radially inner impeller can be a high solidity impeller disposed in a preferably-stationary flow shield occupying a portion of a circumference between the inner and outer impellers, and providing a barrier between the material flowing axially in opposite directions while leaving spaces for recirculation of material by radial flow at the ends of the opposite axial flows. The outer impeller can be coupled to the drive shaft by connecting members protruding radially through axial spaces provided in or around the flow shield. Baffles are fixed in the tank and support the flow shield. The baffles have inclined inner and outer sections that extend axially and are pitched to intercept circumferential flow produced by the inner and outer impellers, respectively, redirecting the flow axially in the appropriate direction. A number of axially spaced impeller stages are provided, each having an inner impeller in a section of the flow shield and an outer impeller on connecting members that extend through axial gaps between sections of flow tube supported on the baffles.

摘要: A hydrofoil impeller wherein the tip edge is straight and has a right angle with a radius extending from the central axis to the tip edge. In the central hub and in each of the blades the number of holes in each group of first and second holes is at least five. The pattern in which the holes are arranged in each of the respective groups of holes is elliptical having a center and a major axis which is substantially parallel to the radius and placed at a distance therefrom. The leading edge is, in the direction of rotation, behind an imaginary radial line intersecting the central axis of the shaft and the center of the ellipse, the leading edge being at an angle of 50°±2° in relation to the radial line. The area of the blade is divided into four planar portions by three straight bends.

In examples, at least one controller may monitor and control one or more parameters associated with the single-use bioreactor A method to cultivate and propagate mammalian cells is also provided. The method may include cultivating under suitable conditions and in a suitable culture medium in a first single-use bioreactor, transferring the medium containing the cells obtained by propagation from the at least one mammalian cell is into a second single-use bioreactor, transferring the medium containing the cells obtained by propagation from the at least one mammalian cell is into a third single-use bioreactor, and cultivating the cells in the third bioreactor.

摘要: A method and apparatus for aerating wine or spirits to reduce the astringency, or bitterness of wine or spirits. Astringency is often a result of tannins in wine or spirits, particularly noticeable in full bodied red wines. Aeration causes oxygen to dissolve in wine or spirits where it will oxidize tannin compounds, thereby reducing the astringent flavor. The method employs an apparatus wherein a hand held unit having a battery, switch or button, electrical wiring and electric motor cause rotation of a drive-shaft and aeration head. The aeration head is immersed in wine or spirits, the switch activated causing rotation of the aeration head creating a plurality of fine air bubbles resulting in large wine or spirit to air surface area simultaneous with stirring to ensure uniform oxygenation and aeration of wine or spirits throughout the container. The process may be extended until the desired reduction in astringency is achieved.

摘要: A method for inactivating a fluid culture includes inserting a collapsible bag within a chamber of a tank assembly. A fluid is dispensed into a compartment of the collapsible bag, the fluid including a culture containing live cells or microorganisms. A lid is positioned over an opening of the tank assembly so that the collapsible bag is substantially enclosed within the tank assembly. The fluid within the collapsible bag is heated to an inactivation temperature that is sufficiently high to kill all of the live cells or microorganisms within the fluid. In one embodiment, the fluid within the flexible bag is mixed while the fluid is being heated to the inactivation temperature.

摘要: A fluid heating system includes a tank assembly having an interior surface bounding a chamber, the tank assembly including a sidewall and a lid. A collapsible bag is removably disposed within the chamber of the tank assembly, the collapsible bag bounding a compartment adapted to hold a fluid. A boiler can be used for pumping heated fluid through the wall of the tank assembly for heating the fluid within the collapsible bag. An impeller is disposed within the compartment of the collapsible bag. An elongated drive shaft is removably coupled with the impeller such that rotation of the drive shaft facilitates rotation of the impeller within the compartment of the collapsible bag. A drive motor assembly is coupled with the drive shaft, the drive motor assembly being adapted to rotate the drive shaft when the lid is in an open or closed position.

摘要: A reducer for an industrial motor including a housing assembly, an input shaft assembly, an output shaft assembly and a cogged belt. The housing assembly defines a cavity. The input shaft assembly includes a first sprocket. The input shaft assembly is coupled to the housing assembly and positioned within the housing.
