摘要: A blending machine, for homogenizing materials deposited within an intermediate bulk container (IBC), includes: a frame; a drive motor; a clamp disk rotatably supported by the frame and coupled to the drive motor to drive disk rotation; first and second jaw clamps movably mounted to the frame; and a drive mechanism to drive the jaw clamps to translate toward each other and rotatably secure the IBC's boom to the rotatable clamp disk. A clutch, a torque limiter, and a limit switch limit the pressure applied by the clamps, and the extent of their travel to optimize clamping and rotatabilty. The blending machine is moveably mounted to a pedestal and elevated by an actuator. A blending bar within the IBC is coupled through the boom to the clamp disk, and driven to rotate to blend the materials, in addition to mixing by rotation of the ICB.

摘要: A method for inactivating a fluid culture includes inserting a collapsible bag within a chamber of a tank assembly. A fluid is dispensed into a compartment of the collapsible bag, the fluid including a culture containing live cells or microorganisms. A lid is positioned over an opening of the tank assembly so that the collapsible bag is substantially enclosed within the tank assembly. The fluid within the collapsible bag is heated to an inactivation temperature that is sufficiently high to kill all of the live cells or microorganisms within the fluid. In one embodiment, the fluid within the flexible bag is mixed while the fluid is being heated to the inactivation temperature.

摘要: An apparatus is provided for heating and processing a product. A mixing bowl includes a rounded base portion, an extended upper portion and two end walls. An agitator is positioned within the base of the bowl for rotation about a rotational axis and in a closely spaced relation with the bowl. The agitator includes a drive shaft having a portion thereof projecting outwardly of the mixing bowl. The agitator having a rotational path closely spaced with the inside wall of the base portion and spaced from the upper portion of the bowl. An outwardly flared transition maybe provided between the base and upper portion of the bowl. A microwave energy source is directed into the bowl for heating the product. A choke surrounds the agitator shaft to form a seal for the bowl to prevent microwave leakage.

摘要: A fluid heating system includes a tank assembly having an interior surface bounding a chamber, the tank assembly including a sidewall and a lid. A collapsible bag is removably disposed within the chamber of the tank assembly, the collapsible bag bounding a compartment adapted to hold a fluid. A boiler can be used for pumping heated fluid through the wall of the tank assembly for heating the fluid within the collapsible bag. An impeller is disposed within the compartment of the collapsible bag. An elongated drive shaft is removably coupled with the impeller such that rotation of the drive shaft facilitates rotation of the impeller within the compartment of the collapsible bag. A drive motor assembly is coupled with the drive shaft, the drive motor assembly being adapted to rotate the drive shaft when the lid is in an open or closed position.

The vertical mixer comprises a floor having an upper surface; at least one wall extending from the floor and having an interior surface and an upper edge; wherein the floor and the at least one wall define an open topped mixing chamber having a general tub-shape suitable for receiving the bulk material. The mixing chamber comprising an outlet for egress of mixed bulk material. The vertical mixer further comprises at least one vertical auger positioned in the mixing chamber for mixing the bulk material, the auger having an exterior surface suitable for mixing the bulk material upon operation of the auger; and a non-metallic wear-resistant material coating or covering at least a portion of the mixing chamber. Also disclosed herein are methods of increasing the wear-resistance of a vertical mixer.
