摘要: Use of composite structures in assemblies for components such as vanes in a gas turbine engine has advantages in terms of weight, but can have problems with regard to stress and strain in operational use. Such problems with regard to stress and strain occur particularly about fillets. By providing reinforcing blocks 5 which extend across at least part of the fillet displacement of stress and strain can be achieved in order to extend component life.

摘要: The invention provides a holding jig for supporting and fixing a solid material capable of being foamed by application of heat in a cavity of a hollow structure. The holding jig may be provided with a plate-like base body made smaller in diameter than the cavity of the hollow structure, a holding part that is provided in a predetermined width in the form of a ring on the periphery of one side of said base body and supports one side of the foamable material, a step part with predetermined height, which is projected in the form of a ring at the inner peripheral end of said holding part and supports the inner peripheral surface of the foamable material, and an attaching means with which the base body can be freely attached to or detached from the hollow structure. The holding part can be provided with a plurality of small holes that open from one side to the other side of the base body, preferably in a net or lattice pattern. The holding jig may have one or more extensions containing approximately U-shaped foaming control walls that assist in directing expansion of the foaming material towards corners of the hollow structure.

摘要: A decorative article of manufacture includes a substrate having a surface of thermoplastic material and one or more relief portions extending from the substrate surface. The one or more relief portions are formed from a blend of powdered thermoplastic material and powdered non-thermoplastic material, wherein the powdered non-thermoplastic material is selected from the group consisting of metals, glass, minerals, and combinations thereof, wherein the powdered thermoplastic material is fused together and to the substrate thermoplastic material.

摘要: In a method for manufacturing a belt and a belt for use in the production of bulk tissue and towel, and of nonwoven articles and fabrics, a polymeric resin material is applied onto the surface of a base substrate in a precise predetermined pattern which is to be imparted onto products manufactured with the belt. The polymeric resin material is deposited in droplets having an average diameter of 10null (10 microns) or more. The polymeric resin material is then set by means appropriate to its composition, and, optionally, may be abraded to provide the belt with a uniform thickness, and a smooth, macroscopically monoplanar surface.
