    Abstract: A film roll replacement device supplies a film roll to a bag making and packaging machine. The film roll replacement device includes a holding section, a driving unit, and a controller. The holding section is at least temporarily located adjacent to a supporting shaft to support the film roll in the bag making and packaging machine, and the holding section holds a first film roll supplied to the bag making and packaging machine. The driving unit moves the holding section in an up-down direction. The controller controls an action of the driving unit to move the holding section to a position where a height position of a center of the first film roll held by the holding section is aligned with the height of a center of the supporting shaft of the bag making and packaging machine.

    Abstract: A system is configured to automatically band a product with a portion of twist tie material and includes a tying machine which includes a twisting barrel, a tie payout assembly, a tie feeding assembly, a main drive belt, and a tying ring. The tie payout assembly includes a spool shaft configured for mounting a tie spool of the twist tie material. The tie feeding assembly is configured to receive the twist tie material from the tie payout assembly and includes a feedroller, a nip roller, a forward feedroll clutch, a reverse feedroll clutch, and a feedroll belt. The nip roller is configured to contact the feedroller with the twist tie material therebetween. The forward feedroll clutch is engageable with a forward feedroll pulley that surrounds a forward feedroll shaft. The reverse feedroll clutch is engageable with a reverse feedroll pulley that surrounds a reverse feedroll shaft.

    Abstract: An automatic packager configured to dispense pharmaceuticals into a pharmaceutical pouch and including a verification system. The verification system includes a camera system configured to capture images in a visible spectrum and an infrared spectrum, a heat source configured to heat the pharmaceutical pouch, a visible light source, and an electronic processor communicatively coupled to the camera system, the heat source, and the visible light source. The electronic processor is configured to activate the heat source to heat the pharmaceutical pouch and capture a first image of the pharmaceutical pouch when the pharmaceutical pouch is heated by the heat source. The electronic processor is also configured to activate the visible light source and capture a second image of the pharmaceutical pouch while illuminated by the visible light source. The electronic processor is further configured to generate a third image based on the first image and the second image.
