摘要: The invention concerns a data recording device comprising a two-dimensional array of microtips (3), whereof the apex is generally of nanometric dimensions arranged opposite a storage medium consisting of a flexible diaphragm (2) borne by a frame (1) forming a plurality of cells. At least one microtip (3) is associated with each cell. Said device enables the dispersion in the height of the microtip to be compensated. In order to eliminate edge effects, the flexible diaphragm (2) may include first and second elementary diaphragms, separated by a network of spacer elements, laterally offset relative to the frame. In an alternative embodiment, an array of flexible plates, separated from the diaphragm by a two-dimensional array of spacer studs, may be used for subdividing each large-size cell into a plurality of elementary cells, each associated with at least one microtip.

摘要: A record carrier (40) of a removable type has an information plane that is provided with a pattern of an electro-magnetic material constituting an array of bit locations (11). The presence or absence of said material at the information plane represent the value of a bit location. The device has an interface surface (32) for cooperating with the information plane. The interface surface is provided with an array of electro-magnetic sensor elements (54,56) that are sensitive to the presence of said electro-magnetic material within a near-field working distance. The record carrier and device system have alignment means (38,41) for positioning the bit locations near the sensor elements within the near-field working distance between a bit location and the corresponding sensor when the record carrier is mounted in the device.

摘要: When adding to a conventional medium such a function that allows it to have a value in its design as does a trading card, a design needs to be made while avoiding a through hole of about 10 mm long in diameter provided in the center of the medium, which substantially reduces the degree of freedom and the value of the design. An optical recording medium of the present invention is composed of one substrate, and the substrate has a circular or annular recess formed in one face thereof and a design put on the center of the other face thereof.

摘要: An adapter A1 made of a synthetic resin includes an annular frame 1 having an outside diameter of 12 cm, a disk receiving section 2 provided continuously on a lower portion of an inner edge of the frame 1, and a pair of disk pressing sections 3 and 3 provided continuously on an upper portion of the inner edge of the frame 1. The disk receiving section 2 is provided with a circular opening 4 for causing an information recording area of a disk to face an optical reader of a disk player. A disk press-contact projection 7 formed so that a projection height is gradually increased in a disk rotation direction Y is provided on a lower surface of each disk pressing section 3. This adapter A1 can securely install a non-circular optical disk even if the optical disk has a slightly different size, and an installation operation of the non-circular optical disk can be easily performed.

摘要: A personal computer data storage card includes a substrate layer, a magnetic medium layer, and a protective layer respectively affixed together. The data storage card is typically placed within an adapter and inserted into a personal computer floppy disk drive wherein the adapter includes dimensions compatible with the floppy disk drive to permit the data storage card to rotate about an axis perpendicular to the plane of the data storage card. During rotation of the data storage card within the floppy disk drive, the data storage card traverses floppy disk drive read/write heads for information storage and retrieval. Paper may be utilized as the protective layer of the data storage card and include text or graphics to have the data storage card simultaneously function as both a data storage device and a business card or other advertisement media. Further, the data storage card may be of any shape permitting rotation of the data storage card within the adapter, and may include an additional magnetic medium layer and protective layer to provide a storage capacity substantially similar to that of standard floppy disks.
